Sucks.
I have been on driftworks just fine recently, ok its a little slow but nowt major.
Besides I doubt there is many on there who even know what a DDOS attack is let alone how to conduct one
So thats why its been crap for ages! Wonder what fag it was!
I vote MEXITON!
Whats a DDOS attack for anyone that doesn't work in IT
Direct denial of service
Dont you have Google
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack
Denial of service attack is when a person or group use computers to bombard a website with requests, this overwhelms the websites webserver and tends to crash them spectacularly or just slow them right down.
However as its been working everytime i have went to it recently it must be a right crap DDOS attack cos it looks to be ok

No, i aint tried to log in but i can browse the forum as a guest fine so its unlikely to be a DDOS attack and more likely a fecked SQL instance or something wrong with the database if you have trouble logging in.
Just been in and went for a sniff round a few threads, looks responsive enough.
Edit - just logged in fine.
DDOS is Distributed Denial Of Service isn't it?
It's fairly easily solved generally if you have a half decent host.
From what I've read on facebook they keep swapping ip addresses to try to run from the attack they have been using the firewall to but its taking it down.
I can't get on at all just fails to load for the last 24 hours.
we have a big meeting in a bit but if its not fixxed after that might nipe down see if me and liam can offer any help .
Sorry but not rating the hosts 6 days :O
There is nothing wrong with it
Haha, well, essentially if the place hosting it is giving them their own dedicated box it's simple to solve, if it's a shared server it's a little more tricky.
DDOS attacks take effort to keep going, as the PCs its using often have AV that catches up with what's happening, and ISPs also spot it and take measures
Also, a little change of IP Address of the site, a redirect and a manly switch type gadget to forward / filter the traffic takes a load off pretty fast.
It does just depend on how the host works, how much bandwidth they have (if they dont have much, and the site is on a shared server they'll just switch off the site to save other customers being effected in many cases) and how quick they are to react
I wasn't meaning to say anything negative, just that it should be fairly easily solved
I can't get on there at the moment, but it was working earlier today. I tried to log in and it said I'd used my maximum amount of login attempts and now my account was blocked!
