    Red Top water pump

    Hi.
I am planning to change water pump in my SR20DET RedTop.
Can I buy new one from SR20DET from s14(a)?
Will it fit to RedTop? Will not be any leakage?
    Regards,
    Kamil

Can to fit a 14a water pump to a redtop? Yes you can

Will it work as well as a redtop pump? Nope, it will not.

The s14 waterpump blades are sunk further into the pump housing whereas the redtops sticks out from the housing so you will find there will be less water pressure from the pump.

I have found such info on frsports.com:
Brand new OEM Nissan S14 & S15 SR20DET water pump assembly for RWD S14 SR motors. Most SR20DET motors has been sitting in the junk yards of Japan for a few years. Old water pumps tends to "sieze" if not used often (usually the case with SR20DET motors sitting in the junk yard). It is recommended to replace when rebuilding or swapping in your motor to prolong engine life and ensures proper water flow and cooling for your motor. S14/5 SR20DET water pump is also considered as an "upgrade" for S13 SR20DET motors due to the fact of redesigned pump for better flow. It bolts up the same on the S13 SR20DET, but does not use one mounting hole that the S14/5 has. Many has done this small upgrade and is running fine in the S13 SR20DET motor.
Red Top water pump in polish Nissan service cost almost 100Ł and I would like to be sure.

It's NOT an upgrade. The cavity that the water pump fits in is different between redtop S13 SR blocks and S14/S15 blocks. The S14 water pump impeller will not sit deep in enough into the water flow path if used on an s13 SR block, and potentially not generate enough water flow.

I noticed the difference when comparing it with the old pump removed from my S13 SR block and promptly exchanged it for the correct redtop one, luckily the stockist had one piece left on the shelf!

Kamilp, it's funny that you put up that info from frsport, when I was doing one of my orders for my rebuild, I asked them if they had a redtop waterpump where they then told me the redtops were on backorder, then preached aload of rubbish about the s14 pump fits and it being an upgrade.
So I compared my redtop pump to my brothers vvt blacktop pump. Yeah it'll fit but there's no way that it's an upgrade.

You should send "Kris c" a pm on here and see if he can help you out. I think he works as a parts advisor for Nissan
