    honda jazz's.....opinions?

so, with us thinking about getting rid of the audi (other half's car that we often use for long journeys) a family friend if hers has offered her an 04 Honda jazz for free.

now, we were looking at something decent to replace her a3 with, but she's saying (and I kinda agree) I could take her a3 and do the work needed to it at my unit, then sell it on for a good price and she could save up extra money for the next year to get a decent budget (say 6kish) for something alot newer.

what I want to know is, what are jazz's like? reliable? parts prices? easy to work on?

are they known for needing bits at higher mileages? or are they the same as 300k miles bombproof hondos of old?

no idea on it's mileage/condition, just that it's an 04 plate that this female family friend has owned for a long time and is getting a new car to replace it with.

anything to look out for on them when I go to look at it? what kind of engine options do they have?

Pretty sure they all come with the sought after K24 motor.

Drop some Type R Cams in and you got a cheap 240hp i-vtec'ed family wagon!

Check for piss stains on the seats as the previous owner was likely to be roughly a million years old

MattyGee and Wallers' other halves both have one. They've been great cars afaik. They're not sports cars, obviously, but as a to b or family cars they're perfect. Clever use of space inside too.
Only thing i know that they need is, like a lot of Hondas, checking of the valve clearances. Other than that, it's a Honda. It'll just go on and on and on and....

If they are like our 8th gen civic than a good daily, comfy good on fuel and very reliable. The clever seats in the back are a excellent feature

I second the piss stains, unless the previous owner spec'd the incontinence pad dispenser from the factory.

We have an 04 jazz courtesy car where I work. It's done 193000 miles and has needed nothing major. It's that reliable my boss drove it to Spain a few weeks ago. And they aren't as slow as other 1.4 cars as they are light. It's quite nice to drive.

Not only do you get a perma-ban from... the internet... but you also go to hell when you snuff it.
