Yea chassis for now. Then my plan is to pull the engine in the winter. I’ll do the inner front chassis rails and bulkhead when it’s out too.

I’m not sure whether to just rebuild the engine with a MHG and push the turbo up to 1.6bar from 1.4. Or to go the full forged route. Hmmmm

If you have the cash go for a full rebuild, it is costly though. Could always do gasket and head work with cams etc

Knowing me and this build it’ll end up that way!

New garage floor, interlocking hard rubber/plastic tiles. Really pleased with this and is great to work on.

Buzzed all the crap off to reveal the rot in the passenger side arch. Drivers side doesn’t have any which is odd but good. I’ve got this cut out now and repair panels made just need to get them welded in

    200SX S14a Project

Had the car welded up. (Should be the last welding in the whole thing!) and did the first 3 of 4 POR15 steps

Then got the gloss black top coat on after seam sealing, completing the chassis.

Love this job too. Painting bolt heads such fun!

Just waiting on this lot to come back from the powder coaters then can start putting things back together. I’ve bought a load of stainless fixings for every thing non suspension related which should help to keep things cleaner going forward.

Got the loom secured properly this time. One day I’ll man up and relocate the fuse box.

Starting fitting a few bits back together too

Got my parts back from powder. Love details like this.

With the lower radiator brackets back I cold finally unbox and fit my Koyo N-Flo Radiator. Really is a work of art and fits perfectly.

Then today got the inter cooler all cleaned up and fitted.

Just waiting on the Nismo powerbrace from nengun now it’s taking aaaaggggeeessss!

Also got my E24 going again after some electrical issues.

Got my front coil overs built back up with shorter springs and the air cups fitted

And got a few more bits back together on the chassis. It’s just the front suspension left now really and to add fluids.

Got the bumper back from paint too. Looks fresh

Just need my nismo powerbrace to hurry the hell up from nengun!

What’s the grey coat you applied before the black top coat? I feel like I’m missing a por15 productvand I’m about to do my chassis and I have the degreaser, metal prep and top coat that’s it.

    Looks great btw

Its the POR15 rust preventative primer it’s more important than the top coat in my eyes. Just go for a different colour than your top coat so you can tell where you’re going over!

    It’s such a good system!

    And cheers guys!

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure if you used the same product, cheers. I’ll do it all in the same steps as you’ve done, I want to never have to do it again haha

This is what I drop on top of the primer. But I use tigerseal to seam seal in between the POR15 paints too

Loads of hours put in doesn’t look like much extra has gone on but a lot of things have been neatened up from how they were before.

Coilovers, lower arms and new track rods fitted.

Then cleaned my K Sports up which came up amazing. And got those fitted.

Got the mesh and new DRLs / indicators fitted to the bumper and refit it. Relocated the horns too. Has anyone ever fit any other horns these look and sound crap?

Having a crap experience of buying parts from Japan at the moment as I’m still waiting on my Nismo Powerbrace from nengun.
