Hahahaha.. when I was doing it there was always stuff that would get past the goggles. Or they would steam up

Two good coats of POR15 top coat black on looks great under there now although hard to photograph as it's so well black...
AN-6 braided fuel lines fitted too.
All being well the box will be fitted tomorrow.

Box fitting went really well today with help from a couple of mates and thanks to 'drifter' too for his write up and advice at the time.
Also got my new pagid slave cylinder and Hel conversion line fitted. Thanks to GarageSR for those.
Just needs fluids in clutch and gbox now and need to run my braided brake lines.

Got all the box wired in including the Dakota converter fingers crossed it all works!
Of course because I went near my Defi control box that just went nuts so had to fix a load of the connections. Why are they so damn fragile!
Got all the interior back together including chopping the rubbers around to fit.
Another big thing I forgot to mention is I've opened up one of the mounting holes in the gearbox that was missed by the previous owner of the setup meaning it's secured across about 240deg of the bellhousing and not less than 180deg!
The shifter has ended up in a decent place too and doesn't foul the trim at all.

Ok so things have moved on well.
Managed to get hold of a japspeed superlow twin downpipe for a steal.
My mate modified it slightly for me as my Tomei expreme manifold and elbow setup seem to sit slightly differently (lower grrr) to normal. Fits great now though and sits nice and high.
Once that was done I took the car out for a little test drive and all seems to have gone well with the VG box conversion.
Put the car back in the garage to begin the renovation of the rear of the chassis. Obligatory dropped subframe shot...
With the subframe stripped of all components I removed the old rear diff bushes as I've get energy ones to install to go with the fronts I fitted when I put the S15 diff in.
Subframe ready for powder coating.
Grabbed a shot of this pretty pair too!

Got all the tank and all the other little bits stripped off now so it's ready to start busting the rust.
I can finally fix the small hole I accidentally made in the top of the tank too!
Nothing's too bad. Plenty of surface rust but no massive holes. Just a few little bits around the bottom of the arches to sort out.
Tank strap bolts but up a good fight but I got them out in the end. Straps aren't in great shape which is annoying as not sure what to do about it...
And a massive shoutout to Nissan UK for really getting a great coat of underseal all over the chassis

Doesn't look too bad under there
Sounds like a good plan mate, hope it goes well !
Looks really good man it'll be spot on once those little bits are done on the rear. It should definitely help your gtr fund out a lot if you keep it this clean for the next how-ever many years
Subframe back from powdercoating. They've done a great job.

Nice work mate, pretty much what the 180 needs from me in the near future!
Looking fantastic man can't wait to drop my subframe, and yeah our dream car is totally out of reach now unless I win the lottery
