Ah, so the SX prop is a 2 piece? Never actually looked at it if I'm honest
Ah I see. I'll probably get a half made up, then material won't matter so much, although dropping a bit of rotational mass through using ally won't hurt.
The Z33 prop is a one piece, I'm not sure if it's carbon (no visible weave) but it's definitely some form of composite.
dont know if any of this will help but here goes...
the prop on the 350z is a carbon bollocks one so the prop shop wont be able to use it.
if you just measure the gap and give them both ends of the the props then the prop shop will make the prop and source the yokes if needs be. props are between £60 and 150 usually depending on lenght and if they need to supply/machine the yokes.
is it neccesary to machine the bellhousing?? cant you just do same as paul (polo) has and removed the engine to g/box spacer (if the zed has 1??) then its only a couple of mm's anyway which hasnt been a problem??
cant speak highly enough about r35lee off the 350z forum, got my drift shell off him and he's not only done and supplied everything he said he would but has also gone out his way to give me info/parts when needed. he's not always on the zed forum tho so best to drop him a text or give him a call, he's a busy man tho.

Yeah I'd just send them both ends and tell them the gap.
I think it will be necessary Matt, there doesn't appear to be any spacer between the engine and gearbox. I dare say if you look under your daily Z, the bell housing bolts straight to the VQ without any spacer. Also the others overseas who have done the swap have had to machine it, and I dare say they looked at other options first.
cant be arsed lookin under daily lol only suggesting an option to check as its not always the best way just copying other hence you doing research

Well I'll be under Craig's Z at some point to help him change drive fluids so I'll have a look.
IIRC Polo gets away with a much thinner plate because he welds studs to it to fix the gearbox. The plates like the Z32 etc are thicker because they are tapped to take a bolt
Any updates on this?
I might look into this if my box shits itself which is quite likely as it's starting to crunch reverse and sounds pretty horrible
Still on the hunt
Just found more info on the box etc

I've got more important things to look at ATM, but I'll get looking at it soon. Biggest stumbling block for me is the adaptor plate, with having zero CAD skills, or access to a spare SR20.
I have the bellhousing on the box, and I have my engine in the car. In all honesty, I'm loathed to pay the extortion the yanks want for a bit of metal with some holes and countersinks in it!
Is there a link or anything to this conversion having been carried out on an sr yet? Im seriously considering doing this conversion on my build rather than the RB25 version.
Cheers Aj
On the first page...

There's also a guy in OZ who did it, but all I found was a for sale ad of his conversion.
Cheers for the link mate, how difficult does anyone think it will be to get the bell housing machining done? Link shows not any machine shop can do this? Why not??
Cheers Aj
Purely down to the size of the bellhousing.
Any progress with this guys? My box is definitely going to break soon I just know.
