ha! I have an Avocado tree also. Pics to follow!!

how did you germinate your pit? cocktail stick in water or striaght in soil? I tried loads with the cocktail stick method but none of them worked. Ended up putting it in soild and keeping it moist then after maybe a month it sprouted.

Here's mine. It got to that height really quickly and has just stopped. I guess it's just establishing it's rooting and when happy will make another reach for the sky!

The pot looks quite small from the picture, mine had large roots when i planted it from the water so maybe they've reached the edges already?

Now my chilies are seedlings, I need to get them under some light. Has anyone used something like this? What do people recommend?

If you send £23 on a light + electric to run it wouldnt it be cheaper just to buy chilli's from the shop? Personally it defeats the whole point if you have to buy / run expensive equipment.

Anyway, below is the current state of my scotch bonnet, i have 34 of these! Grown next to the window, total cost 50p for the seeds, compost from the heap in the garden made from kitchen / garden waste plus mud washd off my trials and enduro bikes, only watered with plain water.

Can anyone ID this for me? It was planted last year as a seed but did nothing only to spring up when it started to warm up outside

Really no idea what it is

I've got a load of King Edward potato plants popping up outside and a load of other stuff, I'll get a picture soon when things are a bit bigger

My hydroponics experiment lasted about 15 minutes. Maybe if you were growing weed in it you won't notice the tiny little pump doing an impression of a speedboat engine in the next room, being at least semi-conscious it pissed me off very quickly.

Oh well, I'll stick to the ones in soil that are about 3 times the size.

The full list of what we've got on the go this year is:

    Sweetcorns
    Tomatoes
    Peas
    Cauliflowers
    Baby lettuces
    Garlics
    Onions (Giant)
    Onions (Small)
    Raspberries
    Strawberries
    Loganberries
    Potatoes

And in the herb garden we have Parsley, Thyme, Mint and Chives

At the moment most things are in the cold frame but we will probable plant them out in the next couple of weeks, at which point I will get some pictures. There is still a bit of construction work to be done

    Right,

Chillis are germinating at the moment. As for what’s been planted this year:

Tomatoes, runner beans and sweet peas.
    Cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage.
    Lettuce, onions, beetroot, and parsnips.
    Potatoes, leeks and sweet corn.

Also got some cucumber and courgettes plants on the go. Oh and a pumpkin

Also hoping for a decent amount of Raspberries, blackberries, goosberries, strawberries and rhubarb from last years plants.
Pear and Cherry trees are covered in blossom/small fruit so hoping I can get to them before the birds do. Again.

    Pics to follow

    Quick Question

Is it too early to put my Chilli / Pepper plants outside overnight yet ?

I have 4 plants all about 12" with flowers on that have been kept on window sill in sun lounge (No idea what they are Mrs C hid the details ) .

Probably, even if it doesn't frost they won't like the swing between day and night time temps. The would probably be ok in a greenhouse.

Greenhouse is OK, I have tons of stuff in mine... think it's too early to be unsheltered though.

    Cheers Frisbee

Will pot them on and move them out into the porch to harden them up more temp differential there than the lounge

When they go outside its against a south facing wall with shelter from the south westerlies we get here on the island
