Oh yeah, forgot to add in this one last random photo of the mileage I picked her up on: an easy one to remember for calculating service intervals.

Good stuff dude! As for the Enkei's, they won't be going on: I like the nice compliant ride she has on the 16s & I'd need coilovers to have it sit properly on 18s.

...and the rest of the crew () with a special mention for Eoin who picked me up & drove me down a second weekend running to finish her off! It was a case of "ahh it'll be done by dinnertime & I'll drive her home after we pick up a bite to eat" which turned into a "Feck me it's 2am!! Let's get the heck out of Colm's shed & go home before we fall asleep at the wheel on the drive home!"

She's running well at the moment, not chancing driving her in any way hard for the moment until she's got a PFC in her - I've been told those old ECUs don't have a great facility for knock retardation & I don't fancy tempting fate.

Soooooo, onto the fun list of niggles to sort in a most-likely-to-complete order:

    - Investigate possibility of Jap radio being converted to receive Irish radio stations
    - Complete RF111 "Change of Particulars" form, get it stamped & signed
    - Bring RF111 & "off-the-road tax form" & possibly Logbook to Tax Office & get her taxed etc.
    - Buy another 5L bottle of coolant
    - Flush coolant system & refill
    - Change diff oil
    - Change fuel filter (these are a PITA to get to in an FD, positioned directly above the diff! Seriously, WTF were Mazda thinking??! )
    - Correct steering-wheel position (it's off-centre due to removal of steering knuckle)
    - Remove irritatingly dark rear window tint
    - Procure a PFC (It's only for making sure the car runs ok on Irish fuel... )
    - Install & map PFC
    - Fix rear window seal
    - Get the whole car valeted top to bottom
    - Errrmm, dip for oil & refuel regularly??

Seen this last night, clean car, could do with lowering, more noise(exhaust), v-mount, big single and bridge porting

I've a Sony MEX-1GP head unit at home that you could have? It has audio input port (iPod etc), inbuilt amp & 1GB flashdrive built into it but it's a U.S. model so only reads odd frequencies (98.1, 98.3, 98.5 etc) and no band expander can be got for it

    Oh &

I can get the radio band expanders here for €35, they'll tune in the irish stations but your radio screen display wont display the correct frequency ie today fm which is 100.9 here will disolay on the radio as 82.3 or something similar.

Now if you'd said RX3 I'd be horribly HORRIBLY envious but the RX2s are also a lovely car! Any pics?? What's the 3rd FD about by the way?

Cheers James! The fuel filter's getting changed on Sunday before it gets mapped.

Meh, don't mind as it's not exactly going to be a daily - as soon as I'm arsed cracking out my old MD collection sure that'll probably be the music sorted for a long time!

Actually, the Rex is more comfy on the road than the Mini!! The Rex has got 225/50/16s VS the Mini's 215/35/18s!

Cheers Dave, getting sorted with one for €10/12 or so which I'll hopefully be fitting on Sunday too.

    Updated list:
    - Complete RF111 "Change of Particulars" form, get it stamped & signed - DONE!
    - Break out my MD collection - Friday probably
    - Procure a PFC - Getting sorted Saturday
    - Figure out where the pesky water leak is - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Solve intermittent high-idle issue (I have a feeling it's connected to the water leak)
    - Change diff oil - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Change fuel filter - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Install & map PFC - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Remove irritatingly dark rear window tint - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Install Band Expander to receive Irish radio stations - Getting sorted Sunday
    - Buy another 5L bottle of coolant
    - Flush coolant system & refill
    - Correct steering-wheel position (it's off-centre due to removal of steering knuckle)
    - Fix rear window seal
    - Bring RF111 & "off-the-road tax form" & possibly Logbook to Tax Office & get her taxed etc. - Awaiting pesky logbook...
    - Get the whole car valeted top to bottom
    - Convincingly Photoshop a picture of my reg-plate onto a pic of a written-off silver FD & show it to Rochey saying "I walked away without a scratch thankfully!"
