The reason you're not allowed to put used engine oil in your tank is that it is used to disguise Red Diesel.

I used to put veg oil into a 20L jerry can and use that to put it in the car. It didn't make too much of a mess although I scratched the paint a couple of times filling up in the dark.
I used to run veg oil in a diesel N/A escort, that had a lucas pump and didn't seem to mind after 10k or so. Another mate did the same with a fiesta on the same engine/pump. Cars that have mechanical injection are cheap bangers anyway, so its hardly the end of the world if the pump fails after a year....
what about with an '02 306 1.8D non turbo.
What pump with this model have does anyone know?
Just while this is still up and going.
I was talking to my folks and my maw was asking the legallities of it....
I have heard its up to 2500 litres of Veg a year is tax free?
How do/can they monitor it? Not looking to dodge it, just curious.
