I tend to go visit Chris in Wales.
Can travel any distance for an MOT. Dunno how well you'd talk your way out of the tax though
I've used these guys for my former Xantia and current Primera, and they are nice chaps and chapesses.

I haven't put a 200 through them so I don't know if they're clued up about the 200 (e.g. S13 & Cat situation) but I'd still recommend them.

Hmmm... I use MK MOT in Kiln Farm as recommended to me a while back by Wolverine when I needed some inner sill welding doing. They are a friendly bunch. If you mean Friendly as in lenient though, I'm not so sure
They welded up my outer sill last August and did a good and reasonable costing job. I can't see myself going anywhere else yet and I'm glad I've finally found a garage I can trust. This info might be useful for someone in the future, but probably not you this year
Maybe get someone to tralier it to Wales. Still might work out sheaper if you have a lot of "concerns" lol
Apparently the place is called JDP and it's over in Olney - you should speak to Les!
