Keep the good bits for a few years, think of them as an investment

I think it's time you put that snowboard away and get back to working on this project so that we get some more progress to read up on

right yesterday came home to find that my bro and dad had been welding up the car

While I want to have a good crack at it myself and improve my welding, the car is rotten enough for me to learn on the other bits

So bits that have been welded up are !

    - Bottom cross bar
    - tie rod mount repaired
    - holes in arches welded up (altho starting to wonder whether tubbed was the way to go but nevermind)

    - Battery tray plated and welded up
    - I welded a patch into the otherside just before i went on holiday.

So nearly there with the engine bay thank fook

Will put up pictures I feel that my bro may have had motive tho, as now he has pinched the welder

.. so i'll crack on with other non welding tasks while he has pinched it. which is no problem

    Right so pictures

My bro and dad have been busy, bless em

First up, the nut which holds the tie rod bracket on was fooked someone had tried getting it out with a stud extractor..which had broke, meaning it couldn't be welded and extracted. So they decided to go in via the arch, welded a nut in and closed it back up

Next was the battery tray. We went decided to plate it from underneath, so if the oem panel starts to melt away, there is extra patch material to fill the gap

Heres the patch i did before my holiday. I coated it in POR15 once i'd welded it in. Was a bit of pig on my own but i managed it. (fooking OEM panel melting away)

Next is the new cross brace

Im really happy with it to be honest, its welded in now and I just need paint it up

Next plans are to get another few patches welded and then time to paint it
