Agreed, you'd have to be out of your tree to pay that.

£35K with 35K mileage. wow. STill expensive for what else is on the market for the money, but it will be a collectable, expensive but a collectable none the less. Shame you don't see them around, remember loads of cosworths 15 years ago.

1 of only 56 made in that colour, 1 of only 500 total. 35k genuine mileage with fully documented history and a pedigree background that many want to have a piece of.........

justifies the asking price i think.

personally one of my all time favourite cars

at the end of the day exclusivity costs. if it was an r32 skyline N1 with 35k genuine and documented, people wouldnt be slating the asking price so much

I suppose when you look at it that way.
RS500 is also one of my all time fav cars. I was looking at the prices out of curiosity, The rest are about the £20k mark. Then Thid one is £35k I was quite surprised at the price of it

I've seen RS500s for sale on ebay and other places for this kind of money before, they just seem to worth a lot now especially when there in exceptional condition like this one is.

There was a black D reg RS500 on ebay a while ago i think it was asking for similar money was a minter aswell

New Focus RS500 is expected to be around £35K, a £7K markup on stock Focus RS. SOLD OUT everywhere, 101 for UK.

    350bhp doesn't yield much performance these days, 5.4sec 0-60mph, 163mph top speed.
1486Kg, not too bad by current standards but aero is truly awful 0.38Cd, CdA 0.89m².

Same reason a Mk1 ford 2dr escort shell costs more than the moon, Classic fords have a huge following out there.

Used to love those when I was a lad, but they have not aged that well for me and I would never pay that even if I had money to burn. Would rather have a much prettier classic like a Mk1 Escort Mexico or RS2000.

Just to remind some of the doubters about this car.

The RS500 is far from Chavy

A genuine RS500 with that low miles and fully documented history is worth that all day long. Minght have to wait a while to find a "comfortably-off" classic Ford enthusiast though.

I'd say with the modifications this has had actually detract from the value even while they enhance the performace. It looks nice and if I was a money-no-object kind of person with a decent car-house (it would be too nice and well equipped to merely call a "garage") I'd have snapped it up to pop in my collection of iconic motoring legends.
