Pete, the original games were very much a choice system.

I completed the original in a matter of hours following the storyline (which was epic).
I also did a run through taking as many quests/dungeons/exploration/house building etc as I could and it took me months. Alot of the original game content you found walking between places. Incidental content almost

In fact, going around stealing enough books to make floating lights in my wizards tower took fooking ages, but it was worth it

By all accounts, you can take up crafts to fix your weapons, or make stuff etc. This sort of thing will involve talking I should imagine. It's also completely optional. You don't have to become a blacksmith. Just speak to the blacksmith to get your items fixed for a cost.

I think the game covers most bases. You should try it out, I think you'll like it.

Oblivions still worth a purchase, but I wouldn't bother if you get Skyrim first.

I've sunk hundreds of hours into Oblivion, and I didn't even do the main story quest . Watching my GF complete the main quest was good enough for me. I was all about side and guild quests.

I kinda ruined the game for myself when I made 100% invisibility armour

Worth getting or is it a bit dated now
I would also say its one of the best games ive ever played Buy it before Skyrim to find out how awsome it is.

Its the only game Karen asks me to play rather than throwing a shoe at my head.

    AND SHE HATES GAMES

All there, looks to be some artwork like you've said along with a DVD and a figurine. Each to their own but I want to play the game not have it take over my room.

I'm in MK now I'm afraid mate! All about the Port Solent Tesco for geeking out with midnight releases.

That way you can pick up the accompanying snacks for a late night of gaming

My GF does the same. The music and scenery sends her to sleep (rather than the screaming engines of Forza/GT, or the numerous deaths of Deus Ex, etc)

Bought Battle field last week. Mw3 yesterday and now shopto are saying order has been dispatched for skyrim. Always got my preorders a day early from them so should have it timmorow.
Played oblivion for about 20 mins when it came out but never could get into it so hope this does the trick.
