You can choose which quests you want active by selecting them to toggle on the quests screen. If you want to stop following the Dark Brotherhood questline, just turn it off and pick another one instead. You can do the same in the misc quests window.

It just annoys me that it will always be there, I can never get rid of it.

^^^This. I lose her all the time as she doesn't always take the same routes as I can. She'll turn up I find that fast travelling to another location does the trick too

I've accidentally killed Lydia a few times and thought she had properly croaked after an epic fight with a dragon and a giant early in the game.

It is funny how you just don't want her to die!

I even got a bit sad the other day when I told my dog to go home, thinking he would go to my house, then realising I'd basically just 'fired' him and he looked all forlorn!

This game has turned me into such a nerd!

I wish lydia would f*ck off! I'm on the quest with Anska, and they keep fighting. Each time I load a save game they just start fighting. Wenches.

Lydia died for me the first time I played it lol... Got attacked by a Frost Troll and I ran off but she kept fighting
