Didn't rain today so I continued fitting the bodykit.

I got the front bumper to fit well enought for me. There is a small step from the passenger side wing, but that was there with the stock bumper aswell so the problem must be with the wing.

Sideskirts needed small modification, but they fit rather well afterall. I used the arch liner screws to mount the skirts in the front. They are not mounted in the rear yet. Will need somekind of glue aswell when installing...

Took the rear silencer off to fit the rear bumper. Was a real PITA to remove the polyurethane mounts.
Well anyway the rear bumper doen't fit very well. It's twisted and maybe a bit too wide. I can force it in place, but I don't know if the paint will be able to take the abuse...
Will need to make mounts for it and see how it looks when properly secured in place.

And finally a few shots of the car with the bodykit. Should give you the idea how it is going to look:

Time for yet another clutch as the blade disc was almost completely worn just after like 2000km

This time I went for another carbonetic blade disc, but with ACT Extreme pressure plate. Should be good for 800nm...

Wheels needed a respray aswell. This time the color is something very different

Sanded the wheels and sprayed a black base coat:

Then they got a gray metallic paint:

And on top of that few layers of purple candy:

    And few layers of lacquer:

I'm quite pleased how they turned out:

The rears are still on base coat, but will get the candy treatment soon

    Rears painted:

While installing the new clutch I noticed that the outlet was a bit loose. So had to take the exhaust manifold off to tighten it.
When I got it off there were only 2 of the 5 bolts left, no wonder it was loose

Will need to put rubber boots on the rosejoints in the adjustable arms for MOT. Don't know how I will manage to get them on tho as the hole looks rather small:

Oh I have forgot to update this thread... Around a year ago I had to get yet another clutch as the Carbonetic Blade was slipping and when I got it off it looked like this:

So it was time for yet another clutch. This time I went for another Carbonetic Blade disc with ACT Extreme pressure plate. I had the Driftworks flywheel skimmed and the whole disc + pressure plate + flywheel set shimmed to get the most out of it.

I took a few pics of the process:

Took the plenum off to gain easier access to the gearbox bolts:

The pain in the ass bracket that has been designed by a true sadist:

Great fitment on the wheels I had

    Some random gearbox bolts:

This time I remembered to take the shift knob off

Used some axle stands on the front jacking points to gain access to the box:

    Propshaft off:

Box and a big puddle of gearbox oil on the floor. I don't understand why does this always happen to me

Sadly I forgot to take any pics when I was fitting the new clutch...

Got a driftworks braided clutch line so I could ditch the damping loop. Had to bend the pipe to make it fit. I couldn't get a line that goes straight from the master cylinder to the slave because the car is LHD. Nobody seems to do the lines for LHD cars. It would have to be considerably longer...

I had a strange problem with the car cutting off when the boost was over 1.4Bar. The cause turned out to be the 45deg silicone bend in the intake pipe. So I modified the pipe to eliminate the problem.

Here are a few pics of the real work of art:

At the end of the summer 2012 I had the worst case of VVT rattle ever so I decided to get adjustable cam sprockets.

Everything still looked good under the rocker cover:

When I got the adjustable sprockets I knew I had to get S13 bolt for the intake gear and ordered it at the same time. What I didn't know was that the camshafts have 2 different size threads M10 and M12. VVT sprocket uses M10 bolt and the S13 bolt is M12. So the washer on the VVT bolt didn't fit the new bolt. And as always the local Nissan dealer was useless and couldn't find the right washer for me. I decided to drill the old washer to 12mm.
And that turned out to be quite a lot harder than I thought. What are the washers made off? Normal metal drill didn't even scratch it. Cobalt drill just polished it, but when hanging with all my weight on the drill it finally went through after like 20 minutes

    Anyway here is the result:

    Brian Crower sprockets:

Intake sprocket installed. I didn't install the exhaust sprocket yet as I didn't have a timing gun to redo the timing...

I also binned the adjustable front lower arms I had as they were crap...
Got new ball joints and DW poly bushes for the originals:

And so we get to this day. I might finally get the bodykit installed this winter. I sanded and applied the base coat to the front bumper:

Bought some rear bumper fixing brackets which turned out to be crap

I might get wider front and rear fender to go with the bodykit if I can find some that fit well...

Tested how the rear bumper fits. And it doesn't really

Drivers side was ok, but the other side...

Made some brackets today so I could try it on better.

Drivers side fits ok as I noticed before.

And with enough heat the other side went there after all...

Ordered Origin front and rear fenders and can't wait for them to arrive from Japan. Can't really fit and paint the bodykit before I get the fenders...

Also I sold the XXR wheels I had. Any suggestions for new wheels that would fit the new fenders nicely?

Oh I have forgot to update this thread again... Well here is what I have done so far. (Lots of pics..)

    Took the front end apart:

Got some new wheels to fill the new wide fenders. Rota GTR 18x9.5 ET12 front and GTR-D 18x12 ET20 rear. Originally ordered 17" for the front, but they were out of stock so I got the 18...

Had two Nokian Hakka Z 235/40/18 tyres with 4mm thread lying around so put them on the fronts. And ordered Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 275/35 for the rear:

    And finally the fenders arrived.

    Had to try them on:

And finally got round to making a holder for the gauges I have. Butchered the center console part where the cd player goes and used glued some DIN gauge holders to it.

And finished with black Plast Lak:

Will have to redo it someday as it isn't nearly as good as I had hoped... But will do for now:

Then it was time to start fitting the front fenders. They didn't have any holes drilled so had to measure the correct places for them.

This was a good time to relocate the arch loom. Took the loom off from inside the car.

Drilled a new hole for it:

And put the loom back in and blocked the original hole:

And then the scary part... Rear fenders
First I ground the paint off:

    Marked where to cut:

And then some angle grinder action:

And the same for the other side:

Then I taped the rear fenders to the correct position and drilled holes for the rivets: (Managed to drill through the wiring loom in the trunk in the process )

And then had to bend the original fender to a correct shape to allow as much space for the tyre as possible:

Seems a shame to chop up a nice clean set of rear arches

My father welded the inner fender to the outer so I could drive the car to a friend for the final welding. And now I'm waiting for him to finish it. He will change the drivers side sill at the same time as it's ... a bit rotten
Was nice to drive the car after a long time anyways...

On the mean time I have been working with the fenders. And they are now on base coat waiting to be painted.

Yeah they were surprisingly clean. But one of them didn't like the rolling and flaring very much so it was far from perfect, no rust but it was bumpy...

Thanks! I really hope it will look good...

There wasn't that much rot in the sill after all and only a small portion had to be changed. Arches are welded too... Now just need to get the overfenders ready for fitting

Overfenders finally fitted. They need a respray at some point, and might try to get them to fit a bit better next winter... Anyways they will do for now.
At least my 12" rims fit nicely in the new arches

Bodywork has been delayed a bit as the headgasket started leaking. It's sorted now and hopefully I can get the rest of the bodykit painted soon. At the moment the car looks like this:
