    One day insurance

I need one day insurance so I can show people interested in my car, as cheaply as possible. Any suggestions?

One or two websites I have been two don't cover modified vehicles.

How much do these things normally come to?

    Thanks

I think you may struggle for a standard SX. They only insure up to certain insurance groups. Or they did anyway.

How else can you sell a car if the insurance has run out - apart from using private roads? I only need to show it works to potential buyers

Thanks mate but it says on their acceptance criteria page "All other post manufacture modifications (cosmetic or performance related) are not acceptable".

Try ecar, they insured me on a temp policy on my old car which had modifications, but I had to take it out for a month as I was under 21, only over 21s could get single day.

Thanks, they don't seem to provide short term i.e. 1 day insurance on modified vehicles. I might phone them up though.

Did you phone them up or go through the website?

There are no UK short term insurers I know who offer cover for modified or imported cars.

Our sister company are working on this at the moment, in fact we have had to send them over some information on modification this morning.

Umm, so this basically means that anyone coming to view my car I have for sale can't get insured to test drive it! This is a massive flaw in the system

Yes you are right but the UK short term insurance market has never been geared for modified cars.

Looks like it and it sucks. So the only way seems to be take out a policy and then cancel it?

When does Sky intend to get this scheme for modified cars put into place?

IMO that woiuld be pretty foolish, what if you have a crash? You'll end up paying the full year's premium.
