Godammit I wish I had a video of it.

My S14 is wearing winter tyres so I should be able to get about just fine.
Last night I wussed out and parked at the bottom of the very steep hill I live on, so no heroics there.

This morning, easily out of the estate with maybe 2" of snow compacted down to 1". Some other front drivers were slipping about.
Then the roads were brown, gritted, grippy, gridlocked and boring, except for one.

(for the locals, Jack Lane from Dewsbury up towards ShawCross)

I see it ahead, totally whited over and not much traffic had gone that way, so I had to. It's a jink left up a blind corner under the railway bridge then uphill getting steadily steeper until a Give Way at the top.

Normally it is a busy road so I didn't dare get any sort of run up before the going under the bridge. Then left and seriously uphill. But, the only car coming downhill was a very slow moving Range Rover.

I enjoyed that 30seconds of my commute this morning. The car just shot up that slope and the Range Rover driver's face was proper funny.

At the top was a mess of cars trying to decide whether to go down that road or not. I had to stop on the steepest bit of the slope, 50yards short of the top, until they could decide what they were going to do.
And still managed to get going again.

    I love these tyres

    Audi & Astra:

This doesn't account for the bloody windchill you get living up on the top of a moor, it's BITTER up here :

For proper snow pics though, see my other thread: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=480898

That's pretty impressive, Jack lane is notoriously treacherous. Even on my faily flat road half a mile away RWDs are really struggling.

Lame amounts here too - same as last year, the rest of the country is under about 8 feet and weve got a decent frost, and thats it.
