Water temperature gauge

Heya guys, recently got another s13 had the water pump seal go on me on the way home, replaced it and it's fine, I've driven it probably about 5 times since, however last night on the way home, when it was up to temperature of course, I boosted it and the water temp gauge started having a disco?!?! The needle was jumping Fromm cold to mid gauge and everywhere else between any ideas? Only does it on boost though

My S13 did that before, but it turned out the earth wasnt on properly

Yeah, it'll be electrical as the water temp can't possibly fluctuate that fast. Check all the connections - chances are it'll be engine bay side where you've been messing with the coolant hoses.
