    Lowering with OEM parts?

Is there a chance to lower the S14 with OEM parts?

Any Springs / Dampers / suspension arms from other Nissan models which lower the car, especially the front-end?

Why do they have to be oem parts?

Nismo do s-tune matched springs and dampners I'm sure they do arms aswell.

I´m living in Germany. Anything else than OEM-parts is hard to get licensed by TÜV.

Could always cut the springs, would probably destroy the cars handling tho.

I´m thinking about mods as they work
on Honda civic: EG3 forks (correct word?) on EK9 ---> -20mm or
on Mercedes E-class: Rubber plates in different thickness between spring and chassis ---> up to -25mm

... all with OEM parts for <50Euro

if you drill the two lower holes out you could fit s13 front struts. that would lower it. you could fit s13 rear springs and shocks but the s14 has different sized upper mounts.

i doubt it. it's different for the likes of bmw, vag etc as they have various sport variants of the same models giving some choice for part swapping fun. not so with the 200sx. to keep his car road legal our german chum here needs tuv certification for his aftermarket parts, iirc, and thats where the cost kicks in.

i wouldn't recommend part swapping from other nissans due to the inherent differences in models/wieghts etc. its not like your throwing golf gti suspension on a 1.4 poverty spec golf, therefore the handling will probably suffer.

i'd say hunt down a tuv certified spring kit if there is such a thing.

Of course there are springs and coilovers with TÜV. KW, K-Sport, H&R Springs and a friend of mine has AJR-Performance (= D2 with TÜV). But it´s a matter of costs, too.

Here you can see that my SX looks like its lower in the rear. My plan is to shoot some H&R -40mm Springs AND find a way to lower it on the front WITHOUT overstressing my front-dampers. This is why pressing springs or such ideas wont work.

They look lower in the rear because the arch is lower. And it looks higher than usual due to no skirts I reckon. Tyre profiles might not be helping either.

If stock s14 top mounts would fit s13 rear shocks you could do that.
Drill the front lower mounts out and use s13 fronts too.

You would still have the rear massively lower than the front.

Basically, just fit some lowering springs to your s14 shocks, its the best you can hope for.

i think the s15 shocks are shorter only on the back but not 100% sure
this is mine on s15 shocks and springs front and back

how about getting the lowering springs powder coated black so that they look standard?
