stage 2 mods = what power???

    hi all

i went to a RR day today at Ajec racing. i went really to see how the car is running etc as not to worried about chasing figures. anyway as it stands the car is running well and the figure was 290bhp.

my question is. would 290bhp be about right for stage 2 mods? i am not chasing figures as said before just be nice to see if the power is about right for the supporting mods. also stated was i was only really hitting 1bar boost, 1.2 briefly.

    engine mods include.
    std s14a turbo
    HD stage 2 chip
    555 injectors
    induction
    full 3in exhaust
    de cat
    avcr controller
maybe more i dint have spec sheet at moment.

    Thanks

    Chris

Pretty much there for stg2, you can expect between 290 and 300 ish on that map - torque should be healthy with 300ft or so.
Get the sheet up and dont be worried about "chasing figures" as its right to ask about the numbers you get on dynos.

Torque is rubbish, what is it? 260or so ft pounds?
That crap for stg2, would be expecting 300+ imho.
Maybe your avcr isnt optimised for a good aggressive ramp up, would be handy seeing the boost graph on that as well.

thats the only graphs i got though. yea i thought it may be abit low. the avcr is mapped to 1.2bar though, which is max for standard turbo i was told.

Its not its maximum boost level but the gain and how it ramps it, you can get a whopping big slug of torque go walkies if the boost isnt aggressive enough.
Thats quite low so i would be looking at the way the avcr brings it in.

Boost is on the 2nd graph. You can run up to 1.2 bar and you'll get a shed load more mid range torque - its only about 0.9-1 bar at 3500rpm. Get the AVCR setup correctly and it'll be a lot better

Just needs that boost turned up mate. Id do it for you but I would need to read up on how to use a AVCR, but hey its only gain and duty settings like every other boost controller.

iirc i had the gain on 52 or 62 with the boost set at 1.2 bar. the avcr had a habbit of wiping its memory for this if you change between setting a and b as im sure others will back me up.i even drove back to jez when it first did it to me 2secs later and all was back to normal and i just left it on setting a. hope this helps mate
