    Anyone Looking for a Job

    Ford are looking for people

We are currently recruiting externally for graduates to join the following functions:

    · Finance
    · Human Resources
    · Information Technology
    · Marketing, Sales & Service
    · Product Development
    · Purchasing

Finance also has opportunities for fully-qualified ACA finance professionals as well as graduates with relevant financial experience.

Most of our opportunities will be based in Essex and successful applicants will join us in 2010 or early in 2011.

Interested applicants should apply online via www.ford.co.uk/fordcareers. The closing date for applications is 29th October 2010 although we strongly encourage applicants to submit their application forms quickly as we will fill our vacancies on an ongoing basis
Thought it might interest some people

    Hmm, product development sounds interesting.

Could I bring myself to work for ford though? That's the question.

What are your hours like mark?

I do 'Flexi' which means cores hours are 9.30 till 3 and you make up the rest of your time either side of that so you can start early and go home early or start late and go home late Its a 37.5hr week IIRC. I roughly do 7.30 to 3.30 each day. Good thing is you can do an extra hour a day and take a half day on a friday etc

I am not sure if all areas run flexi though.

Seems to be the way lately, our company has employed a Cambridge graduate, and he's the thickest most dangerous manager we've got!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Will these new people have to do any work, or will they be doing a similar job to yours?

Actually, HR, marketing and sales or purchasing could be interesting. Whereabouts would one potentially be based (looking to buy a house very soon and will need to sort a job out).

BTW, I'm actually being serious for once! And I do have a degree in HR...

Im currently looking for a new job and so wish I finished uni, pretty much everything I look at, even basic stuff people want degrees now. I know people who have finished uni and are still useless, no common sense, not very practical etc but just because they have that bit of paper they get all the interviews

95% of the jobs I've been applying for have required experience rather than a degree! Its been very tough as a graduate with no formal experience, to find work. My girlfriend is still hunting.

TBF, its tough for everyone right now.

Quoted for the truth, companies seeking fresh graduates with 2 years experience

tough times, the longer it goes on from when i graduated in 2008 the less and less design engineering factors that remain in my CV and the harder it will be.
