The orange car is a race car. Its 4wd and is metally fast, especially off the line. I wanted to go racing so just went to a model shop last year and walked out with everything I needed. The set up cost over £600!!!

Ive got 8 sets of wheels and different compound tyres, loads of race abtterys, a race motro, electroci speed comtroller etc.

The problem is that the guys that race these cars are fanatical about them and winning or losing is all down to the tyre choise and supension set up (you can alter roll bars, weight distribution, gearing, tyres, shock oil, shock springs, camber, castor etc etc etc etc). I didnt enjoy it, too serious for me as I just wanted to have a laugh.

As a result Ive raced it once and its sat on a shelf since gathering dust

The big ass one, however, is a different thing altogether. theyre a major blast and drive very much like a real car because theyre so damm big and heavy. Not to mention powerful. They are obscenely good fun

That's the FG Marder isn't it? Always fancied a go on one of those. Have you played with the Schumacher 21XT yet? They wheelie of the line!!!

Right, so 1/10 it is. It's a tossup now between the Skyline or the NSX. I'm not keen on all the stickers on them though. Are there alternative shells?

How much then for the setup? Website says 40 notes and I assume this has everything ready to go. Is it worth getting a spare battery etc?

My cats are gonna love this!

    Yaeger,

    Yeah ok then

    Nik,

Nah, we sold our Marders last year because it was wet for months on end and the electrics kept going nuts. I got sick of pulling them out of giant puddles and stripping and rebuilding them to remove all the water

Its kind of scary when 8 kilos of solid metal tears away from you completely our of control at a top speed of 50mph when the electrics go nuts

A Marder at full tlit would probably take your leg off at the knee if it made contact

We discovered this 'feature' while running some drag racing at a show earlier in the year. It's scary when they go off and they always fail on full throttle. The car ended up in the next field

Got some good times when it warmed up though, 1/10 scale quarters in 4 seconds. And it's harder than you think keeping the things in a straight line.

We did this with our own timing gear hooked up to my laptop running my software on to record the times. Should hopefully be developing a widget to do this when I get some time.

    Cheers

    Nik

I'll have a look tonight for you, I think I've got a Skyline in yellow without any stickers on. Let you know later or tomorrow.

They also do bikes as well in this range!

That's strange I sent it twice to sales@apexperformance.co.uk. Maybe our server is playing up - I know they were messing with it earlier putting some spam filter on it - probably stopped it working completely. I'll re - re send!
