    Running a HKS T04E

What kind of power do these make on an SR20. I don't know the trim size yet but seen one for sale at a rather good price.

I know it will be topmounted with a bit of extra's to get it working but I want a top mount

I can't find the turbo upgrade PDF on here but I've seen it before, can anyone direct me to it.

    Thanks

    Daz

Should make similar peak power to a GT30R, but will spool a lot slower.

    t04e's are laaaaagy

t3/t04e's are incredibly good turbos on the sr and ca though (t3 exhaust side, t04e compressor)

    Cheers guys.

I'm aiming for around the 380bhp mark and saw this turbo pop up so thought I'd ask.

Ben, would you say it's worth running it with the t3 exhaust housing then? I take it doing that would be the flange on the manifold would need to be changed as it's a kit at the moment.

just noticed its a hks t04e...you sure it isnt t3(or smaller) exhaust side already?

putting a t3 exhaust side on a t04e needs the housing and the wheel and then yeah the correct flanges on manifold etc and a proper turbo place would have to do it as the wheel and shaft all needs balancing.

theyre really cheap turbos from the states if youre looking at that route

Ah right, sounds like it's more hassle than it's worth then.

Here's where I've seen it, just seems really cheap for Turbo, manifold, wastegate, screamer pipe.

Was even thinking of buying it then selling the turbo but then I'd have to change the flange on the manifold.

Might stick with the TD06 20g route.

Was going to say that none of that looks remotely like HKS quality. Its cheap for a reason.

Decide what you want from your car, then build it from there. Don't fall into the trap of collecting cheap bits and seeing what they turn out like.

    Just my 2p bro.

I know exactly what you mean and I know what I'm after but I'm willing to look at other things if they pop up in the mean time .
