My garden is finished at last (sort of)

After 3yrs and 2 failed attempts and creating, making and maintaining a nice "1 size fits all" garden it has finally been finished, sort of.

We moved into our current house in july 2007nwith the garden looking ok but nothing special. As most homebuyers do we had no money to sort it for ages, when we finally did it was a poor effort first time and the second time round the dog kinda ran riot and we lost interest.

This time round and after having spent the last 8 months fitting a central heating system and redecorating the bedrooms i didnt have the effort or any interest in another house project so we got one of our neighbours in with our design and plans to sort it for us.

End of day 1 - jungle cleared and a new rear fence installed (pic to follow)

End of day 2 - bases for the paving laid

End of day 3 - paving laid and raised beds started to be laid out

End of day 4 - pergola built (my neighbour had his usual jobs to do today aswell)

End of day 5 - paving pointed, more paving laid and the raised beds progressed

End of day 6 - raised beds finished, turf laid

End of day 7 - not sure yet, will find out when i get home

Just need to sort the man things - a shed and a bbq

    What ya think?

Blimey Mel, first Dal and now you. That sure as hell looks different from when I was round last time, don't think I could even see the back end of the garden for overgrowth.

    Whens the BBQ/Party then?

    Looks awesome fella!

I can fully appreciate how long it's taken, we're in the same boat. It's semi tidy now apart from the missing back wall, but really need to do what you have and start from scratch.

Look forward to the BBQ (don't get any gas powered ness, coals are the only manly way!).

The pond was in a yellow builders bucket but the dog kept drinking out of it

only thing i would say is think about how often you will have a bbq, in the summer i may have 2-3 BBQ's a day, or when we have a party it may be on for 4-5 hours. i have gas as **** redoing it every time with coal if its getting used 3 times a day. you cant beat cooking breakfast dinner and tea on the bbq!
