    custom exhaust builders south wales

    Dudes,

Would appear from my travels on friday that "Prospeed" and "Longlife" exhaust shops arn't doing business anymore
I dont know of any others in cardiff, or outside cardiff even......

Need to get my exhaust fixed as soon as, so any recommendations would be appreciated..... (hoping to get away with spending maybe £110 tops).... downpipe thing and so on, or maybe a breakers yard for the bit that goes from the engine down to the catback bit (i dont know where i have snagged it by catching the exhaust on a raised manhole)

    ta

Try Phil Hooper on (01656) 744852. He run's his own engineering place but has recently taken up doing custom exhausts.

has longlife moved then ? i went to where i thought it was, on ocean way (by that motorworld place)

and if i go to either place asking for a downpipe, does that include the elbow thing that comes off the manifold and gaskets ???

Do you not read anything i send you lol

The piece that goes from the turbo is the turbo elbow

Then from there it is the down pipe

    Then the de cat

    then a cat back system

Don't forget i have a turbo elbow down pipe combo here in heat wrap ready to go if you want to save some money

    Noted Nick !
and yeah i do read what you write, just dont understand you! hehe

At the mo though, aint looking for extra performance, just the fix bit, and am only guessing where i have broke my exhaust, so looking for the bits that could be possibily broke....

ie, if i have hit somthing on the ground with my exhaust which has pulled it back should i say, my guess is its pulled away from the top of the downpipe bit (which i thought went onto the manifold)

Will go see Charlie at Prospeed as he quoted me £90 for the downpipe (he did the catback/decat for me).... But if it turns out its not the downpipe thats damaged, need some clues as to where else it damage could occur, so i can look for the bits i need (or haggle with Nick), and then see if Prospeed will fit the extra bits!
    dam manhole covers! Grrrrrrrrrrrr !

You just need to get the car on a ramp and have a nose at the system to see what is broke.

Then get a price and take it from there

It may be cheaper to get an off the shelf part rather than a custom made one too.

Longlife in swansea are open GINNO

You can pop in to see them if you like. they are on cwm ddu industrial estate as before. They did close temporarilly but are now open as TopGear Longlife

I'm not sure however what they can cater for in 3 inch pipework but worth asking.

They can do 3 inch BUT it's not on the shelf so you need to make 2 visits, one to have a nose at what you want and plan it all out and the other to get it done.

Works out far better though IMHO.

As mentioned still open and still in the same place as always.

Jus thought i'd point out, NOTHING you have from longlife (or indeed ProSpeed) is "off the shelf" .

A 2 inch bore exhaust for a vauxhaull vectra is custom made to the vehicle just the same as a 3 inch down pipe would be custom made to a 200sx

I found the problem on my exhaust from the snagging thing
the elbow thing, or up that way, when i accelerate, you can feel air pressure and lots of fumes coming from there (above the downpipe)......
so i guess i need a new elbow and downpipe, and probably gaskets from nissan ? (or somthing from Nick ? )

They carry all pipe upto 2.5 inch but not 3 inch hence my not on the shelf comment

Longlifes back boxes and silencers are made in a factory in Malaysia and the only custom part is the pipework

Gone are the days when you had the boxes made for you to your spec

STU: I have the flying down pipe in the 200 and will get it in the van for Monday, let me know when you are nearer to me in St Athan
