I haven't touched the stuff since I had an incident involving a 3 litre bottle and some lambrini back in the day. Until tonight, where I cracke open a can of strongbow we had left over from a party. Poured it over ice and I've realised I've been missing out for years!

As a lager drinker, I'm clueless about cider but I'd like to give it a whirl now. Any recommendations from the good old sxoc?

Gaymers ciders are nice My favorite has to be old rascal tho, it's cheap in asda also

anything by kopparberg is really nice, but it just tastes like juice so you dont realise how pissed you're getting

Kopparberg is ass, if you like WKD or Smirnoff ice then try Kop if you want cider move on. Aspalls, Thatchers or Westons will all give you real cider (in line with well made craft beer).

For mainstream cider I wouild try Brothers Bulmer, gaymers, Magers are all very samey.

Aspall is a good cider!!! Kopparberg is too sweet

kopparberg is ass

i'd tend to agree. Especially kop pear cider. Far too sickly. Though taste is totally subjective so you may like it. My advice. Get totally wasted by trying everything!

Sweet ciders are my drinks of choice most occassions. Bulmers are smoother than Gaymers and very similar to the Magners variant. My faves are Bulmers/Magners/Kopparberg Pear, Brothers Strawberry & Westons Raspberry. Don't bother with WKD Core apple cider (unless u want to drink WKD again!) as it still has 'that' WKD taste, very little cider flavour.

7.5% Westons Organic, Scrumpy or Katys will sort you out though pretty quickly.

Quite enjoying the pear magners/brothers/rattler at the mo though only just getting into this cider thing, been a lager drinker for a long time, it's a good change

Bah!! nonsense !! koppaberg is the best cider Ive ever had after strongbow all the koppabergs are nice imo,even the really gay fruit berry one they are just a little too sickly if you want to drink more than 4-5bottles

Id like to add I have tried many,many ciders too-went through a phase a couple of summers ago now I only drink it in summer at BBQ's. Magners,woodpecker,merrydown etc are shite imo....but NOTHING is worse than gaymers!

REKORDERLIG pear cider is the stuff you want if Kop is too sweet for you.

The Brothers Pear variant is sharper and nowhere near as smooth as Bulmers/Magners.

I sell WKD Core apple cider but a bit too far for you to travel. Bookers/Makro Cash & Carrys sell 'em though.
