    VVT Sprocket change quicky

I need to pop to Halfords to purchase a high torqe wrench (200nm max) and a spanner to hold the cam in place whilst removing the vvt sprocket bolt.

Can anyone please confirm the size of the spanner needed to use on the cam hex part to hold it in place and also what size bolt holds the vvt sprocket on.

    Cheers
    Dylan

Thanks everyone! 26 it is then!

Riske, I'd just get a s15 vvt solanoid and a quiet vvt sprocket and replace both. My vvt solanoid has fixed two of my sr startup rattles....only replacing the sprocket as its a bit like a diesel sometimes and I want to stop that aswell

I strongly beleve the solanoid is whats causing damage to the sprokets, hence why people change for a new one and get the rattle again after x amount of miles. Why would Nissan change the design of the solanoid only to change back to the old design slightly revised on the s15 ones.

I have a new s15 one coming soon and i think theres a good chance it might sort mine as its not to bad so hopefully it wont have warn my sproket too much. The solanoid i have at the moment is the cheap Nissan one without the valve bit on the end which is the spoket killer imo

I'm about to change my VVT sprocket, should I change the solenoid too? What one should I use? How much are they?

    Sorry for all the questions

Change the solanoid for the one on the right here:

Many people will say it doesn't resolve the problem but everytime I have done it it has worked! And I'm not the only one

Oh one last question....Is it safe to use an impact wrench on the sprocket bolt or not?
