    Birds of Prey - Photos

As some of you know I occasionally like to wave a camera around, yesterday I pointed it some of our feathered friends.

I'll start with some of our indigenous species

    Peregrine Falcon

    Tawny Owl

    Barn Owl

Not a great shot but worth including, a Red Kite has to defend against a protective Kestrel parent

Nice shots. How's the 5D mark 2 compare to the 1Dmk3 you have?

I notice you've set negative exposure bias, was this to stop highlight's appearing on the white feathers?

The 5D2 makes the 1D3 look positively low res!! But it is a lot slower to focus.
I pretty much always shoot 1/3rd stop down for exactly that reason.

Youve just popped down to eagle heights and took a few quality snaps of a few demonstrations! We had a great grey owl land on a neighbour window ledge was about a metre tall!!

If you've ever been to a demonstration then you'd realise how difficult it is to get a good shot.

Cracking Shots Juz as always mate.

Loving the Owl taking a nose dive more than anything.

    What lens are these with?

    Er yeah it's not easy.

This is the best I managed at a zoo once, it flies so fast the focus can only just about hack it

    Thats a nice shot Martin.

This is my best, just wish it had a nice background.

I didn't manage to get a photo of the Peregrine Falcon as they are way too fast to follow for my talent level.

    *EDIT*

Juz and 30PSI, do you both have Flickr accounts?

    Nice pics

I picked up and played with one of these the other day:

    I fell in love

I now look at my battered old 350D with contempt.

Daz: Your Flickr link doesn't seem to work.
I'm on flickr but i'm not very good
