Question would you use your 200 to drive to a job interview??

so, after over a month of being out of work i have got a job interview with a large company, offering a good position and a good salary

right... i live by the rules of you dont get a second chance to make a first impression...

so i have feeling my car might give the wrong impression of me ( )

my car is loud... infact wayyy too loud (blitz nurspec, de-cat, 3" downpipe and a trust turbo elbow ) not my choice in exhaust but it came already on the car

i have odd wheels see this thread for details:
    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=457534

and a rather large sticker in my windscreen

    now... do i risk it!!?

Well park it away from the place you are going to and you wont have a problem
But if i were going to a place for a job interview then no i wouldnt take the sx, i would take the merc...
First impressions and all that... remember folks, most of the general public view fast noisy cars like ours with complete hatred.....

    NO.

Although the place at my work knew what car I had and were dissappointed I didn't park it outside, but like you say, you don't get a second chance.

Borrow someone elses car or park around the corner and walk.

If you find out they are into cars then its all good.

    Whats the job interview?

    oh and good luck

Borrow something "respectable" or park a short walk away.

^^^ How well I know this Although people hooning around and the frickin fast and furious films haven't helped matters

Although having said that, I would take mine but drive it carefully (well, even more so than usual) once I get close to the site. But then my exhaust isn't loud and the car usually looks clean and presentable.

It's the only car I have so yep, I would.

At least they'd have a half hour advance warning of my arrival

When I go to pick my mate up from her flat, I usually turn up to see her waiting outside, as she's heard me coming down the road.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it, I work for a large energy company and sights in the car park range from really fcuk'd up old shitters, to a load of Porsches, AM DB9, Ferrari 430 Scud and a RR Phantom No-one here really cares about what's there.

We had a guy working for us recently with a seriously modified ITR Dc2, no-one really battered an eye lid at it, despite it rabbling it's arse off and auidiable from around a mile away.

Car's often do tell something about their owner, but if anyone does ask about your car or even when you're in the interview, say you like to participate in motorsport/track events, then you don't seem like a loud car owning wheel spinning chav.
My S13 got some weird looks when I used to use it for work, mostly due to the noise and the massive speed bump on approach to the car park at the bottom of a slope bwaaaaar pop pop pop scraaaaaaaaaaaapeeee... etc

    Your call dude.

    Ry

I wouldn't take mine because the VVT rattle sounds so pikey its beyond belief, I need to get that changed asap.

Well, I personally wouldn't want to work at a place who judge me by the car I drive. But maybe that's just me

I personally wouldnt be happy either but in this day and age good jobs aint falling off the back of lorries and you want to maximise the chances of getting the position if its a good one.
Leave it a hundred yards down the road and walk up, you never know if the person interviewing you has a grudge against fancy cars.

If you believe that your car reflects on you, then surely it's important to be comfortable with the image it gives. If you're not happy with it then don't take it, if you're at ease with it, then take it and be confident in your interview.
