    removing cats for fuel economy??

I have a 4 litre jeep cherokee that im about to put back on the road. Its a nice old truck but its shite on fuel I get about 10-15mpg when driving normally and 17mpg when being really careful. Ideally i would like to lpg it but not ready for that yet.
would removing the cats from an exhaust system make a noticeable difference in fuel economy?

Probably not, you would likely lose torque and use more fuel. The jeep four litre is horendous on fuel, especially considering the wieght!
