Smile manual boost controller on s14a

iv instlalled a manual boost controller onto my s14a n it doesnt work at all, iv got the one side of the controller going to the actuator (as indicated on the controller) n the other to where it goes (cant memba wat its called) but basically iv turned the controller right up n still pushing the stock 5psi :/ so i removed the pipe going from the actuator to the controller n took her for a spin n massive boost levels incressed ect but it dumped as a saftey mechanism or somethink :S...

iv been looking at after market actuators from the jdm website with adjustable arms would this possibly turn up the boost like the t2 turbos in the desiel pug 306s ???? or could it be due to a remaping and its been mapped to 5psi ?? any ideas welcome !!

Are you sure you're not reading it in bar?

0.5 bar (7psi) is s14 actuator pressure, and 1st/2nd 3rd gear pressure. 4th and 5th are about 9psi or there abouts.

Must have it plumbed in wrong ,it cant not work its just a ball and a spring, unless the spring is missing . you might have it the wrong way round.Post some pictures of how you have it fitted

So they've basically just unplugged the solenoid and put the boost controller in it's place?

Have they used the 'T' peice anywhere too?

doesnt sound right mate ,theres a boost pipe that comes from ic pipe work that goes to boost solanoid, that should now go to in arrow on new controller then other pipe to waste gate actuator so the tee piece is not needed and pipe to solanoid needs to be blocked

Sounds like they have done it wrong if no pipes are going connected to the solenoid as per the picture.

I'd change it around and see if that make a difference provided the solenoid is still on there.

Edit Ha, you beat me to it lol

the arrow on controller is direction of boost so if you have that one goint to actuator then its wrong ,im going on ebay picture which only shows in arrow

that looks right providing the other pipe comes from a boost supply

Basically here your boost pressure holds your actuator shut so I would check for boost leaks next if you're opended it right up and it's not increased

shouldnt do as its no longer needed ,but most just leave it in and block pipe up
