    '86 200sx

    i was thinking about buying a 1986 200sx but i have a couple of question i would like to ask. how hard are the motors to work on and what problems should i look out for. the car is currently not road worthy but it does start right up and shuts off after 10-15 seconds is this something easy to fix or should i keep looking? no vissible rust on the strut towers or anywhere on the body as for the floor pans i didnt get to take a look but the car is stored in a garage. everything is original except for the radio. its a 5spd, digital dash, rain sensing wipers, none turbo. any information would be very much appriciated.

    Afaik that 200sx was the S12 Silvia over here, take a look in the S12 tech section for more help. I'd imagine that smoke/rattles and a buttload of rust would be the biggest problems a car like that is going to have. If it's free from those it's probably worth taking a punt on it.
