    A scary day.. very scary

Had a near miss the other day that really opened my eyes..

Picture the scene.. infact here's one better this is the road.

Here's me (the red circled car) cruising along at 70 or so approaching a blind bend. However I feel comfortable and safe as this bend has double white lines.. Little to fear.

The yellow dots represent two nice tractors.. and the dot behind it a car.

All is well and I'm enjoying the drive..

Now let me introduce you all to the Terex Demag AC120.

It's quite a large vehicle, and as you've probably guessed already - it is being represented by the giant red blob.

Now, the last thing I expected was for said mobile crane to overtake 3 vehicles around this blind bend, given it is not the sportiest nor swiftest of automobiles. But overtake he did...

My eyesight isn't amazing so it took a moment and a few double takes to realise I was very quickly about to land in the shit. He flashed his lights, which was rich, but I assume it was in the gesture 'oh fck mate im so sorry I'm about to kill you' and I could his hand go up to his forehead..

I slammed on the brakes, and thankfully mine are good and careered the car off the road which luckily had some flat grass to the side of it and he passes me still on the wrong side of the road. Had I been changing a CD or the likes I wouldnt be here.

On retrospect I should've called the cops but I think he has learned a lesson out of it. But seriously, wtf was he thinking?!!!

Its strange too, there are some drivers out there in your position would have thought nothing of that.... People with the same mentality as the crane driver :l

Yeah I agree, dude get to Specsavers

At least you're alright, these things are here to test us every once in a while, but you were speeding and did take time to react, which is the biggest issue in getting the car stopped. But no damage done so all good

You have to wonder if anybody capable of such utter stupidity in the first place is ever going to be able learn anything

Glad you're OK, quite frankly i would have called the law, he needs a lesson before he kills somebody, are they not specially trained? as they are driver/operators?
I certainly wouldn't want him lifting my million pound whatever

The only reason I can even fathom for doing such a thing was he approached the traffic too quickly and didnt realise how slow they was going as he wasnt paying attention and had 2 choices - ram into the back of them as there was no way he was stopping or attempt to go round and cross his fingers nothing is coming

He probably picked the option most people would have done. goes to show how not paying attention can lead to a massive accident in a blink of an eye

theres a bunch of those beasts near where i work, they always take the country lane as opposed to the duel carriageway which both go in the same direction, which is dangerous as its only just wide enough for 2 cars, ive had 1 or 2 poo my pants moments down there but none as bad as yours, glad u had your wits about u unlike the idiot driving it
