right update time. car has been off the road for the last 2 months, not that its bothered me with the state of the roads and weather this time of year.
right basically im tidying up the underneath of the car whilst uprating what i can
started off striping down he front end.
gave both front arches a jet wash before grinding off any surface rust, then onto grinding off any visible rust, ideally i would like to sand blast the whole underside off the car and paint/stonechip it all, after looking at other people`s project threads (petrol for example).
but unfortunatley i havent got the space, tools and time to do a full refurb.
my weapon of choice for getting the rust off
treated the bare metal spots with some special rust proof primer.
front arches are finished now but have yet to get some finished pics.
with all the bolts i decided to give them the vinegar treatmenttheres no way im putting rusty bolts back on with all the new parts i got. will have another batch of nuts/bolts to do when iv finished this lot
thats it for now but will have more updates in a bit with pics of some new goodies iv got.

This looks really nice and clean![]()
an idea of how the bolts and nuts came outwill be getting painted black before they go on the car.
one of the front coilys needed a refurb. really needed a set of new springs, new dampers and few other components on the passenger side. after a chat with the guys at apex i opted to just get some new front gen 2`s. which means if anyone is in need of some front gen`1s i have some going cheapthe new gen 2`s would also finish off the front end with the clean look im going for
dont you just love car parcels.
also orderd up some anti bump steer rod ends as the standard one`s were pretty knackered.
aslo got the apex alignment kit from the group buy a while back.
and also got some whiteline arb`s from darrenb off here
cant just stick all this stuff on as it is thoughme being me it has to look different
off to the powder coaters(thanks to abbott for the contact with the powder coaters)
opinions on these please people? not sure on the blue and white. they are growing on me but could do with some sxoc opinions. couldent get the ends powder coaters due to the bushes.
everything all together with some sexy nismo lower arms
got a few more brackets to get done and then a load of bits for the rear when i start the rear end
just a quick thanks to apex performance for the few phone calls iv had with them. have been extremely helpfull when iv asked all the questions iv asked.![]()

1998 Nissan 200sx s14a , 2000 std 5 speed with nismo supercoppermix clutch bn6 Sapphire Blue
Nice build! Wouldn't trust the Nismo paint - those parts will start to rust straight away. Get something decent on there, either PC or something else
Nothing nicer than shiny components though, enjoy!
Wow, alot of work gone in there mate, I'm very jealous!
Doing the underside of the car has been on my list for about 12 months, hoping to do something very similar at the end of this month![]()
cheers for the comments guys. all opionions welcome.
will take in mind about the paint on the lower arms. if i get them PC it means iv got to remove all the bushes, so dont know how easy there going to be to remove.![]()
Some nice kit there and nicely finished after the powder coatings.
Cheers Aj
Looking good Nash![]()
pic of how the arches came out.
painted both the front hubs.
thought id give my arch trim a bit of a spruce up.
before.
cleaned them up with some auto glym bumper care. one with and one with out, to show the difference.
thought id clean up my old front coilys so that they can be sold on to whoever wants them.
also took the settings off the old coilovers and applied them roughly to the new fronts (obviously il be getting it all set up properly once back on the road).
will be hopefully ordering up all my oils this week, and iv got to send back my mocal oil sandwich plate after driftworks sent the wrong one.

Its a shame you didn't get rid of all the old seam sealer when you were removing rust from the arch - it really suprised me how bad it was at stopping rust. Perfectly sound looking seams corrode within. Hope you managed to stave off the rust beast for a while longer though.
looking very good mate
amazing car all round due between look and performance i love it keep up the good work
mate im falling out with you very quickly, must resist your gen1's lol
anymore updates mate?
Good to see the work coming along nicely mate. Cracking car.
