thought id update this seeing as i haven't done an update for a while. no real changes to the car in 2017 sadly but thought id share some pics from the last year.

    few random shows and meets.

can't remember if i mentioned this before or not but i had someone contact me a while back to ask if i wanted my engine bay to be used in a racing game app (csr2). so the guy came to photograph the car.
    Untitled

and a few months later the engine was put into an s15.

started to collect parts for a suspension overhaul.

first few bits to arrive were some ikea formula arms
    Untitled

    then the coilovers
    Untitled

    Untitled

then the rest of the ikeya arms. only arms I'm missing are rear lca's which ill probably do at a later date.
    Untitled

    should transform the handling nicely
    Untitled

been advised to add an additional clear coat as they tend to not to like uk roads. so last weekend added some lacquer.

    Untitled

also decided to go for wider front wings. not sure if these will stay on the car or not yet.

wow! been a while since the last update

so the spring of 2017 i bought these.
    Untitled

have always wanted a set of meisters and managed to pick these up for a decent price. the rear lips were in need of a refurb so before i decided to split them had to have a quick test fit.
    Untitled

the rear fitted almost spot on, had to run a small spacer to clear the callipers but all in all a decent fit (note the rear damaged lips). the fronts on the other hand were a problem from the start. meisters have always been known for having shite brake clearance so fitting them over my 356mm brake kit was always going to be a challenge. with a 25mm spacer they clear the callipers with 1-2mm space

    Untitled

this was one of the main reasons for going for the winder front wings so fast forward to this time last year i got round to fitting the wheels with the new wider front wings. much better (ignore ride height lol), still a little poke but with some camber should be fine.

    Untitled

    right onto the rebuild time

    Untitled

decided to split all four wheels even though the fronts were pretty mint, didnt want to risk getting the new gloss black a slightly different shade of black.
    Untitled

the faces and barrels actually cleaned up really nice so they didnt need touching at all luckily.

    Untitled

lips came back from powder coaters.

    Untitled

bolts took ages to clean all the old loctite off. looked brand new once done though did however decide to replace all the nuts.
    Untitled

wheel porn all back together along with new decals and also replaced with a couple of new valves.
    Untitled
    Untitled
    Untitled

    new rubber.
    Untitled

one thing i dislike about meisters is the lack off centre caps so went about making my own. measured up the dimensions and eventually found some which would work. lovely chrome ones at that

    Untitled

painted them in some satin black, much better!

    Untitled

also sourced some logos for the centres

    Untitled

really pleased with how they came out, finishes off the wheels just right imo. (still protective film on logo)

    Untitled

thats it for tonight. one last thing, managed to source some 2nd hand professional garage flooring for the unit. makes such a big difference working on the cars. pic was during laying it and before cleaning it.

Wheels are cool, not sure if I prefer them on your build to the LMGT4s though.

That flooring is amazing isn’t it, not sure how I got on without it. Jealous of the garage space you have!

ill be honest I'm still a little unsure myself. ill never sell the lmgt4s so won't be hard to put it back to how it was

moving on to installing all the suspension components. The only ikeya arms the car is now missing are the rear LCA's so far now I've decided to just paint the standard arms to match the others.
    Untitled

also decided to freshen up the ARB's so had them powder coated.

    Untitled

the whole rear end went on fine.

    Untitled

    Untitled

the front was a much bigger headache. put all the arms on fine got the alignment sorted roughly by eye lowered it down and the front was sitting too high. so lowered the coilovers as low as they could go and still wasn't quite as low as id like.
    Untitled

spoke to BC racing to see what my options were, and they advised me shorter springs wouldn't make a difference so my only option was to either go for shorter bodys or sell the coilovers and go for something different. the shorter bodys worked out to be pretty expensive so i had a little think and come up with the idea to lower the car more with some aftermarket drop knuckles. went for the geomaster 3's. the lower the car a further 40mm iirc. also helps keep all the other arms angled to more stock position so helps with bump steer/ roll centre etc.
    Untitled
    Untitled

nice and straight forward to fit and achieved a much better ride height.
    Untitled
    Untitled

rolled the car out of the unit and went down to my yards entrance to make sure the car cleared the speed hump

    Untitled

    Untitled

so with the all clear on the speed hump the ride height was now set. lost count of the amount of times the i had all the front end components apart to make changes or adjustments so was a relief to finally have it all set and done.

not a great pic but gives you a rough idea how close the brakes are to the wheels.

    Untitled

before i sent the wings off for paint i made a gamble with some wing mirrors that came up for sale. have wanted gandors for some time now so when these came up i enquired if they were genuine or not, the guy was unsure if they were so with the pics he sent me they looked genuine to me. few days later they were sitting in my hands and i was itching to inspect the backs of them.
    Untitled

scratched off a load of paint and voila result!!
    Untitled

so along with the wings these were sent off for paint a couple days later. painter done a fantastic job as always.
    Untitled
    Untitled

wings were back on too along with the side skirts
    Untitled
    Untitled

well pleased with the final result. had the car aligned and mot'd just in time for the end of summer lol

last couple additions to the wheels were some genuine works dust caps and wheel nuts. finishes the wheels off nicely.

thats everything up to date i think now. will just leave you with a few random pics from the summer. only changes i had to make was dropping to a lower profile tyre on the front as was a little too much rubbing for my liking. have only driven the car once on the new tyres and it seems to be better but its still early days.

    Amazing car,loving the updates mate

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

these are the most recent geomasters. and yes they reduce the ackerman significantly. with the geomaster 3's you have two alternative settings. street drift/track-grip and then extreme drift use. i have mine setup in the track setting, as have no intentions in drifting the car at all. i'd imagine the ackerman angle isn't as good as it could be in the setting I'm running.

So have you found it much different to drive with them fitted? Heavier steering or less turn in?

Hi mate yes still alive . still have the car yes, but sadly doesn't really get used much these days. probably only done 1000-1500 miles in the last 3 years. Unfortunately since its not been used much there isn't really much to update on the build. So ill just leave a couple pics from a couple meets and shows it did attend over the last few years.

    Untitled

    Untitled

managed to win 2nd best in show at japanese performance show a couple years back.

    Untitled

    Untitled

Only mods i have done to the car since the last update are some OEM wind deflectors.

    Untitled

    new K&N filter.

    Untitled

decided to bring them lmgt4's out of retirement.

Also the clutch decided to shit itself whilst out on a project for recording the sr20det audio for the newest need for speed video game so have replaced the clutch for a new OS Giken twin plate. Didnt get any pics of the clutch or install sadly. And thats all the updates i have, the car has only been driven once since the clutch install so still needs to be bed in. Car has been sat in storage since august 2021 but hoping to get it out to some meets this year fingers crossed.

Oh and the car is now back on the miesters again lol.

He lives!!! Sorry mate, totally missed your reply. Super pleased you still have this beauty. The Miesters are sweet but your car just looks sooooo right with the LMGT4's!
