Keep it up nash, making me miss my 14a so much
cheers dude I'm trying lol, can't believe you sold yours mate. think you should buy another dude
news on the door cards. door now shuts, took ages to get right but its now 95% there just needs a few finishing touches.
fitted the passenger door bar and started to crack on with the second door card. despite getting loads of stick with how long the door cards have taken the 2nd one I've managed to do in a week, again havent got pics of the 2nd one yet but will get some more when its all finished
next up i decided to sort out some of the inlet side of the engine. for a while now its bugged me about using the standard oil filter housing as ideally i want to run a jdm filter housing which doesn't have the oem oil cooler on top. luckily mitch had his filter housing now available from breaking his car. gave it a little clean and also fitted the oil pressure sensor (more on that in a minute)
this also ment that some of the roose hoses i bought are now redundant. luckily some of the wrong ones they sent me fitted perfect for the new setup, sorted
also got the other heater matrix line made up.
new filter purchased too
next up i got the injectors fitted to the plenum.
then quickly test fitted the plenum to route the injector loom, managed to get the loom hidden out of sight under the inlet
just a matter of getting the filter housing fitted properly then the inlet can go on for good , can't wait.
also managed to get a few other bits finally sorted before i left last night. got all the power steering lines properly installed now as finally got round to buying some jubilee clips for them.
also started to get the wastegate fitted. not properly on yet but will sort that all out next time I'm down the unit.
will notice earlier i installed an oil pressure sensor into the filter housing. thats because I've now bought a new gauge setup. as much as i didn't want to sell the defi gauges seeing as it took me a while to collect them all. I've now bought mitchs old gauge setup. only gauges i didn't buy from him were boost and fuel. i still need these two gauges but will be buying them later down the line.
any way the new setup (nicked these pics from mitchies14 thread)
and custom mounted shift light
should look pretty cool when its all fitted. will start to run some of the looms next weekend as also need to tidy up some of the oem loom, so will do it all together before the plenum goes back on.

yeah you should have mate. the old one came on the red 14a when i bought it. this one i bought a couple years ago, believe it came off jez's old time attack s13.
thanks mate
ryry92 you should buy his^. its a better spec'd plenum than my one and is virtually brand new
We are in talks

good. if i didn't already have one id be all over it.
Great attention to detail, so many little things I like about this car... including the effort put it.
cheers cloudy
got a few things sorted this weekend. first off i picked up some new front wings the other night, forgot to get some pics but will get some next time I'm down the garage. just need to get them painted and roll the lips etc and then they can get fitted.
started the weekend by getting the wastegate properly fitted. got all the fittings fitted then set about installing it.
rest of the weekend was mostly spent sorting the inlet side of the loom out. few plugs needed the wiring sorting on so thought may swell sort the rest of the inlet loom out. started by stripping all the standard plastic conduit and tape from the loom until i was left with this.
bought a load of plastic braided sleeving
then set about cutting all the plugs off nervous times
was then a case of sliding all the sleeving on and rejoining the plugs.
end result.
had to replace one of the melted plugs for the ignition amp, so gave this the same treatment.
and also had to cover the loom for the power steering plug.
really pleased with how it all turned out. makes me want to do the whole loom now lol. job for another day i think.
got a couple bits on order at the moment so as soon as they arrive the inlet will be getting fitted. briefly fitted the inlet again this afternoon just to make sure the new loom all fitted. took a bit of fiddling about but got everything to fit in the end. also bolted one of the wings, want to try and get it rolled before it goes in for paint.

got some pics of the wings on the motor.
also had a little delivery from gktech. bmc stopper
and water neck spacer.
also recieved some new stack temp sensors. (water and oil temp)
fitted the water neck spacer and the new sensor
been waiting on these bits for a while now, its surprising how one little part can hold up a build. once this was mounted the dipstick tube and turbo water feed could finally be installed.
it also ment i could finally run the stack loom to all the sensors now. final pic before the inlet goes on.
before the inlet went on i also fitted the bmc stopper.
also decided to run a few of the wires to the boost pressure sensor and map sensor before the inlet went back on. then set about getting the inlet properly installed. had to re do a lot of the sensors and fittings on the inlet as a lot of them were only in finger tight and also wanted to ptfe all the threads to stop leaks. was a bit awkward getting to some of the bolts but got it all bolted up eventually.
also p clipped the new loom to the rocker cover.
hopefully will get some more bits done over the next couple days
over and out
Looking great

thanks chris
Did you loctite the fittings into the wastegate? Deffo worth doing that
Looking good, interested to see what pipe you use from the neck to the rad. As I have a similar set up and is not totally happy with the pipe I have used.
do you know what i was thinking about this yesterday, and i didn't. will get them all off and lactate them tomorrow. thanks for the heads up
I'm going to use some coolant hoses i bought from roose. have yet to test them with the spacer on but can't see it being to much of a problem.
Nice project Nash love the attention to detail keep it up
I used a straight bit of cooling hose also from Roose, and it did not work in the way I had hoped it would, fattened out after the connections to the rad and the water neck so looks a little odd but it dose work. I also looked at trimming the OEM pipe down at each end but I did not think it would leave enough straight to connect properly and using the OEM pipe unmodified was a no no as it just kinked in the middle. anyway I'm sure you have a plan and I look forward to seeing it and maybe shamelessly steeling it later down the line.
This is just pornography now Nash. Your attention to detail is incredible. I will have to get you helping out on mine when I'm further down the line haha.
lol cheers daz. always here to help daz, will exchange my help for some pics of the car when its done. deal?
got a couple more bits done at the weekend. first thing was i got two more plates welded in the car for the cage. forgot to do this the first time round. now that the cage is out of the car its given me the chance to finally get them welded inn. sadly i didn't get any pics but will get some once I've painted them up. looking forward to cleaning up the inside of the car as its a tip atm, hopefully the interior will start to go back inn within the next couple weeks (can't wait).
before the interior goes back in, I've decided to change up a few bits of the interior. first up i wanted to swap the roof lining from the red car as its in a lot better nick. also bought some black dye to do the the lining and carpet, gave the roof lining 2 coats and its still grey so not overly impressed with the dye so far. think i'll give it one more going over and then leave it as is. it still looks much better than the standard colour so can't moan.
the dye i bought is a carpet dye so that could be the problem I'm getting. the carpet on the other hand came out much better. again going to give it another going over before it goes back.
next up i wanted to get th lines made up to the inlet. so started by doing the fuel rail to fpr line. took a bit of trial and error to find the right fitting with the correct angle. 90 and 150 degree fittings were no good so eventually settled for a 120 degree -6. still a little tight but it works
then done the other line at the back of the inlet. all fairly straight forward.
happy to say thats theres not much left to do in the bay now. hopefully i can start cracking on with the interior soon
