    BMW 323 - Turbo

    Anyone got any experience?
My mate wants to turbo his E36 323 as a project.

I can handle the mechanical gubbins (Manifolds, oil/water feeds etc) but I dont know the engine. Can they take boost? My mate mentioned using a diesel bottom end? Are there any piggyback tuning options out there? What can the OEM MAF's take?

I'll be doing the BMW website trawling but I wondered if anyone here knows them?

    Ta

np, its a bit, urm, american, but they have a shitload of helpful guides and how to's.
bimmerforums is ok, if a bit slow and anally retentive. bmwland is ok too as is e46zone. the BMW-UK one is really painfully slow and has a lot of older people on there.

I believe it is very tricky to turbo our BMW's because the steering colum is in the wrong place Super charging is easier so I hear

I think the general consensus on putting a turbo on a Bmw engine is that it is very expensive to do properly and not worth bodging If you can do it for under 3-4k id be very impressed

Well how about an engine swap instead?

People drop in the 4.4 v8
