    Been busy Today

Well as i have had no work for weeks now, and monies tight i set about getting me rse out to9 the 200 and sort out some of my rust issues that have been bugging me since purchase.

So ill let the piccies do the talking

these were the bug breaers of my project, i absolutely hated these little niggly bits and thought id whip the complete front end off and start to repair any damaged areas.

The front came of preety easily as every bolt pretty much sheared off, not that im too fussed as i will be cable tieing most back on as shes mainly going to be used for skidding and have been told that cable ties are the way to go
so heres some more piccies after i pulled the fron end off

Definately cleaner than i originally thought and was pleasently surprised,

    And again not too bad

And so the grinding began, started on the top struts, i have seen many bad cases and thankfully these were actually very good, took the metal right back until the rust stopped

The slowly worked my rpund the car, tend to get caried away lol, but pretty much all surface rust and got rid of all of it ready for prepwork and filler

    Drivers side

    Another passenger side

So out came the tub of filler, now i usually hate filler and to be honest havnt done alot of any of this body repair work, but being pretty good at most things with me hands i was quite pleased how it all went

    front panel

    Good rub down

Me bro giving me a hand for the day Gives me the motivation lol

And primed up, results were pretty good.
Still need touching up a tiny bit in places but on the whole really pleased

Amongst this i pulled off the front crash bar, grinded back any rust, rubbed down and threw a coat of primer on her, then sprayed up in satin black.
Wasnt too worried about the finish as its hidden but did do it all properly

And thats her tucked in bed for the night till i can get back on it tomorrow.
Still needs a little rubbing and filling till im happy with it, then will spray satin black inside and around all the areas of the arches etc, along with finishing off the undersealing in the arches etc

Getting there slowly, just want to get the new arches paid for, get the rear fenders paid for and fitted then go all satin

Shes not pretty at the moment, but im working on it

opinions welcome, just thought id share my days progress today

Top work mate . Looks like you have been relatively lucky with regards to the rust as it appears to mainly be surface stuff .

Good luck with the rest of the removal

    Cheers bud,
to be honest i was expecting many many holes as the sills are awful, but when i pulled everything off and revealed mainly surface a was pretty chuffed.

Just need to get the sills sorted, quite a bit of work involved in those

Yea you do need to Tub the arches to get eipc lock, along with modify the hubs and arms, although DW now do Geomaster extra lock hubs which look tasty

Well been busy today, managed to pick up the new spare engine today ready for rebuild (cheers dan good to meet you mate)

Got back then made a start on the car again today, really finished off tidying up the filler work and sprayed everything satin black.

    Really pleased with the results

Really does look 10000000 times better and really pleased with the result, also managed to fit the pre-facelift splitter i got to my bumper which looks great

Up next is prepwork on the wings and bumper ready for satin paintwork, as im going this all throughout the bodywork, and will eventually run wider arches with some good offset wheels

    Cheers guys
