this one would be my ultimate set up star wars cinema
but my one looks more like this all be it with a Sky HD box now
Hallsy,
What rears are you using with your AE Aegis evo 3's ?
Im using the same fronts with evo 1 rears, they have begun to annoy me now due to the size of them and the fact i cant get a decent sound stage from them due to space.
Is there anything available that i could sink into the wall but that could produce the same sound level ?
If i am honest im now tired of looking at speakers as all the ones i find that are suitable for my application are pants
Here is mine
Very simple, personally I wanted as little as possible, so I have a samsung blu ray 5.1 all in one jobbie.
Here's mine:
Panasonic Viera P42G15
Wharfedale Diamond 8.3s
Onkyo SR805
Sky+ HD
AV receiver doesn't actually fit in the stand, going to try and solve that today! Also need a sub... will sort that when I can
Do you leave your 360 upright all the time?
Thanks , I have the 1050i floorstanders bi-amped and the jamo's connected to the front B outputs to widen the soundstage. Sounds pretty good.
Boarding and skimming the shelves/boxes was a complete ball ache but worth it in the end.
I've done something similar upstairs as a back up COD zone, for when our Gert wants to watch tele. I'll take a pic.

I've got the same setup and I know what you mean. All my speakers have about 2 feet between the backs and the walls. I believe if you do something with the bass ports it can help, but it will probably alter their sound in other ways.
I remember the reviews for these speakers always used to say things like '"need lots of room." An ex-girlfriend was really not happy when I bought some Atacama speaker stands as she thought they looked horrible and that the evo1's which were my only two speakers at the time, sounded great on the floor (girls don't see speakers like we see them, and like to hide them and make them match the curtins and things) but once I lifted the speakers up onto them as they were playing and she heard the difference from just the positioning she was okay about them.
I had mine upright until I scratched my first game beyond repair.
The slightest knock when on or not even that in my case it was just me walking near it upright on the floor and the game jumped out of alignment and deeply scored it. Layed it horizontal ever since!!!
Heres mine.
Panasonic Viera (dont know model number)
Pasasonic Blu ray with i-pod dock and 3.1 suround( might be upgrading to 7.1)
Panasonic DAB, cd,ipod, hi fi
Sky+ HD
Nintendo Wii
Sorry for the crappy photo quality, was taken on my I-phone.
I'm liking the sound of that setup
Mine is
Panasonic TH42PZ70 Plasma
Onkyo TX-SR875 Receiver
Kef IQ7 Fronts
Kef IQ6c Center
Kef IQ3 Rear
REL T1 Sub Bass System
Roksan Kandy L3 CD Player
Panasonic DMP BD35 Bluray Player
Sony PS3 320GB
Toshiba HD-EP30 (EP35 Firmware) HD DVD Player
Onkyo iPod Dock
Apple Airport Express
Love the musicality of the system......
And have a B&W Zeppelin iPod dock in another room.
Lol!!! We love the hard stuff in this house
Mine are actually AE Aesprit 309's, but for the rears I am using some Gale bipolars. Not great, and they are something I want to change, however, they do deal with the effects well, and as we sit quite close to the rear wall they do well to spread the effects.
What I really should have bought when I got my other AE speakers was the wall mount rears.
AE301 iirc - these: http://www.acoustic-energy.co.uk/Abo...tory/AE301.asp
But as they're discontinued now, I will probably just upgrade my bipolars to some better ones. They work well in our room layout, bookshelfs would be too much.
Nice setups Cluck & AshT
Cheers guys. The amp needs upgrading soon as it doesn't support anything beyond Dolby Digital and DTS on-board, so although the decoding is done in the player at the mo, the player doesn't decode DTS-Master . I would take a photo but it's not the tidiest looking setup . I also haven't got around to getting the small half-pipe to cover the 2 thin cables that feed into the TV - it will look like the world's thinnest TV/monitor stand when it's done, even though the TV is fixed to the wall
The only weakness in the setup is the fact that the main front speakers go so low - without much of a problem - that the sub is almost lost. I'm going to re-wire it so that the speakers go via the sub so that only it is driving the bass frequencies. It also means I'll get some super bassy music
Ash - what's your Onkyo like? I'm 99.999% certain that I'm getting an Onkyo when I chop the Arcam in and interested to know how yours sounds on normal music
Hallsy - I like the cleanness of the room, but I'd go mental in a room that spartan
Danny-Mac - your setup looks really nicely done
