That's the kind of size I'm hoping for in my cellar is it a 1080p projector, how well does it cope with games?

NO it's only 720, but it is f--ing amazing, picture is superb

Got it for £500 delivered last year, it's gone up in price a little but well worth the money

    nice!

The one thing i have been wary about with a projector, is having the room very dark, is that true or can you use it with the curtains open?

You really do need a darkish room, Bright day light really dose make it difficult to see any dakr colours on the screen. I have put up a black out blind in front of the patio doors but still when the sun is out, it can be a little to bright coming from the windows in the other room.

It's perfect for the winter though

    Awesome setup Cornwall

    MW2 on a PJ =

DLowe - if you are thinking of a PJ mainly for gaming, then a 720p one will be ample, as there are very few games that are actually 1080p anyway (PS3), and none on the 360 as it can only output 1080i max.

The InFocus X9 as Cornwall has is a good choice, also the Optoma HD 65 or HD700X or GT-7000 are very good for the money (they're all the same).

    Nitrodave - loving the HTPC

I was tempted to build mine in an old full size DVD player case, but I ended up getting my Silverstone case cheap, so didn't!! The boombox is awesome though!

Thanks for the info, when I am eventually in there the pj will be split 50/50 ps3 and blu ray/DVD so will probably want to go 1080? Or will it not make much noticable difrence?

FWIW buy a decent screen to go with the projector.

I've got a 1080P Sharp projector and motorised screen that I managed to nab when my old offices were decommissioned have yet to set it up though

Close up of pixels, not too bad really for the size of screen...

If you play MW2 you will now how small this is in the corner of the screen

Im redecorating my room really soon. As you can see, it looks like there is lines down the middle, oops >< Only really noticeable on a white background etc.

Think i will go for white wallpaper lol...

I have 5.1 on speaker mounts as well around my room as well

hallsy, any chance of finding a link for that tv cabinet?

been having real difficulty finding a tv cabinet that will take a full depth media center, also, was the fan system an optional extra or a custom jobbie? any chance of details on it if it was a custom job?

I have trouble getting my media center into the stand it just fits with its feet, but the actual case overhangs the back of my stand by about 3 inchs
