Some nice looking set ups here. I dont watch enough stuff to warrant spending big on the AV side, still got an old Sony CRT ffs and only got bluray cus the DVD and XBox died lol. So I'll just listen to my music at hilarious volumes on my ATC SCL20's - Google them if you wana spend daft money on a set of 6"/1" active monitors.

Got an LG 42" in our lounge, for everyday use, but just finished building our home cinema - due to our slightly odd house which is half built into a Peak District "peak", we've got 3 underground spaces on 3 levels. Previously they were used as store rooms, but we've had one plastered, painted and carpeted, to become a snug.

We're using a BENQ W1300 projector to project a screen size of about 3.5m diagonally (HD & 3D) - it's really impressive for it's cost, watched Gravity on it last week and was absolutely blown away. At some point I'll put up a proper projector screen (probably fixed), but at the moment it isn't really necessary.

Sound is through a 5.1 Panasonic amp and speakers, it's a bit weak, when I've got some spare money I'll upgrade.

    Pretty crummy iPhone photos, sorry.

Lolz, a piece of wood keeps my 32" from tilting to the right lol.....
That says it all about my "home cinema". But I love it anyway ha.

Very nice. That makes me really miss my kit. Optoma projector, Denon amp, Mission 7.1 speakers. All currently in boxes after a house move and will probably stay that way as no current suitable space for it. Screened onto a white wall for years but never had the luxury of a windowless room.

How's your Beagle with it all? Our cats used to go nuts watching and trying to catch the football when it was on. They hated F1 tho haha

I was about to say that a £25 blackout roller blind does a grand job of both blocking off your window, and being the screen for the projector.
But I've just checked Ikea and they don't seem to sell them now.

Whatever it was began with T

Disclaimer: Other companies can supply roller blinds with blackout fabric suitable for projecting HD TV onto, but probably not for £25.

Not quite home cinema, but my setup.

After some saving and years of searching. I finally got the speakers I have been after. Typical when you have the money there were none about.

    Kef Reference 4.2
    Arcam CD192
    Audiolab 8000a
    Some LG 47" TV

The amp will be replaced fairly soon.

    Not the best picture...

I just upgraded this year to a LG 55EC930V + Pioneer SCLX86, the Wharfedale fronts I had are now rears, the centre has been replaced with a B&W offering, as have the fronts.

Quite liking both, but if you have a 42" TV and are thinking of an upgrade, 55" isn't enough, 65" would be much better.

Mine is pretty toss in the new house.... just my lg55 tv, yamaha rxv 675 driving the same old mission m73i's ... With my diy 15 inch house sub

    All about to change tho.....

After 12 months of doing the house up I am finally about to start the bedroom and living room (all expensive nessascary rooms now done)

Have to do the two together because all the cables for the projector and rear speakers are going under the bedroom floor.

Hopefully will be a optima 1080p 3d projector, 120inch electric screen and full compliment of focal 8 series speakers, with the 836v looking like they will take the front stereo duties.

Give me a couple of months yet tho.... baby and maternity leave mrs is sucking funds

Thought I'd revive this see if anyone else has had a lock down refresh...

Following my comments above, I finally got the living room installed done:

    Yamaha rxv 675,
    Mission QX2 left and right
    Mission mxc1
    Mission mx1 rears
    Mission M5ds surrounds
    Bk monolith subwoofer

    Benq W2000
    Cheap amazon screen 120 inch
    Sony Blu Ray

LG 55 inch cheap smart tv for daily duties

Will make the jump to 4k once a projector thats an actual improvement in picture gets to a reasonable price.

    Not the best pics:
