Are you going for a full blow over or just the rear bumper. Loving your project it's come along way and I don't mean with 78 pages lol
Ok, the car has been at the bodyshop for nearly 2 weeks now and should be in the final stages of being finished as I should be collecting it on Monday........I can't wait any longer. I want her back now so I can clean her and drive her .
It must be a killer as you'd literally just had the car mapped aswell
Spoke to the bodyshop today as I was hoping to pick up the car today but it's not going to happen. It's going in for the paint today so won't be ready til tomorrow, possibly wednesday.
I want it back now .
Spoke to the bodyshop this morning to see if I can pick up the car tonight........they've run out of paint so it won't be ready, it MIGHT be ready tomorrow.
Not sure if it's just me but if you've had a car for 2 weeks then surely you'd have checked that you've got enough paint.......before the day it's meant to be done.
I'm not sure if it's me expecting too much from the companies I deal with or not lol. Or if I just have really had luck lol.
The paint shop I used kept my car about 5 days longer than planned. I reckon a few small insurance style jobs were slipped in between mine which is why it took them a little longer. I didn't really mind too much though as I had the Yaris and they were doing it at a bargain price.
It'll be worth the wait mate.
Running out of paint's a pretty lame excuse though.
Crikey you fall off the map for 6 months and Daz goes and fits a TD06
Sounds well! Almost makes me tempted by a swap I was offered!
Get some pics up when it's back, bra. Are they going to machine polish the whole car too?
i wouldnt be suprised that the reason they have run out of paint is because they sprayed it once and the colour match was probably crap. so they will be getting a better match in.
has happened to me a few times at work. we only paint tinters in 1l tin and they can run out quite quick.
Yea running out of paint lol, like the keep stocks of Nissan damson which they use on a daily basis, surely they would have ordered the paint for your car from a supplier?
not neseccerliy, most bodyshops use a piant shceme, this is where you have about 20-30 different paint called tinters, you then use a computer and set of scales and with a tintung formula and mix the paint as and when you need it,
damson i think consist of roughly %40 silver metallic, %40 dark red and then the other %20 will be stuff like, purpe, black, white, and maybe an odd colour like orange or pink.
and when you run out of 1 of these tinters you cant make the colour at all as there is no way around not using all the tinters.
Then I will let them off lol
