Ok on my Xmas list so far I have some DS3000 pads, 2 x 255-35-19 tyres and a Donnington park track day! That sound fair Santa? Haha
**Currently breaking**
RX-8 191, RX-8 231
That vid still cracks me up
hahaha silly mistake but no where near as bad as getting done by a mx5
i like the wheels bud, why not the 12" rears tho?
It makes me laugh lol
that is Madda's mx5 and isn't exactly slow.
Several reasons I didn't get the 12J's. Tyre cost, having to run a big stretch and lots of camber or running over fenders, non of which I wanted.
Anyway, a quick photo from today......these brakes are brilliant and I've hardly touched the pedal so far, can't wait til they are all bedded in
i no mate just playing with ya, u can tell the little mazdas charged
suppose if your arches are in good nick then why spoil them, unfortunatly i dont have that option so overfenders an 12"s it is
liking the brakes bud, i missed them on the thread, i mainly skim and look at pics now as i cant keep up on line much now
Looking awesome Daz, glad your pleased with them
If your not spinning then you just aren't pushing hard enough. It's all part of the learning curve isn't it . I can't wait to get on track again .
Yeah, my rear arch's are in good condition so want to leave them as they are for now.
There were some pictures of them a few pages back .
Cheers Nash. I'm well pleased with them so far .
Yesterday me and Steve fitted the new K-Sport brakes, re-fitted the exhaust with some new decat pipe gaskets, did an oil change and had a good laugh doing it all .
Fitting the K-Sports was pretty easy too. The only bit that took time was getting the shims right for the mounting bracket spacing. Turns one 1 0.25mm shim got the disk in the dead centre
Here's some photo's from the day. Big thanks to Steve for all the help, being able to use his ramp made this job so much easier I think.
Next up will either be getting the nistune fitted or uprated engine mounts as well as wirebrushing the under side of the car and giving it a nice coat of underseal .
They're hooj!!
Nice work mate, bet it stops very well now.
Really must get my new brakes fitted, have had them since July
There's at least 2mm clearance of the brakes so maybe I should get some 358's lol.
As for stopping, the brake pedal is instant, only have to touch it lightly for it to start slowing the car down. As for actual braking power, I have no idea as I'm still bedding them in and that will take a few weeks.
You just replacing all your brakes or are you upgrading?
Do they just need a gentle bedding in then?
Upgrading, have a flick through my project thread
Basically keeping stock calipers and disc size but got Dixcel carbon discs and Z Type pads all round. DMS used the same set up on their TA DC2 with fair success so it should be fine for my needs
The bed in procedure is quite aggressive though
