What size tube is Wardy using? 3mm?

Goes to show you paying JDM tax doesnt mean you are always getting to notch stuff

Using nitrogen for not burning the inside? Or is it something else? I see a hose and silver foil in the manifold.

It's steam pipe that he is using so I think that is 3mm thick.

Yup, not all expensive jap brand stuff is good . Warby actually told me he has seen better quality manifold off of ebay.

It's actually pure argon dude. The manifold is always full of gas internally as it ensures no scabs / bogeys by shielding the weld internal .

Update again. My mate Paul popped round to give me a hand with getting the front end off to remove the intercooler setup.

First up, Paul wanted to get in the engine bay and act like a car lol.

Bloody headlight bolts snapped so I'll be replacing those. Thanks to Gareth Nevins for letting me know about suitable replacements.

    More parts coming off.

    She's looking naked now.

Battery tray will need to be cut out.

Passenger side looks a little better.

a few sots of rust to get sorted.

Better condition than I thought it would be in though.

Lots of wire brushing and sanding needed I think.

Intercooler came out and will be going up for sale soon as it's too big for what I want to do.

100mm thick core on this one .

Looking well Darren. When I get my new shell I'll be going HMIC also. I'm also doing a removable slam panel for easier access.

Cheers Muttly. HMIC ftw lol. I thought about a removable slab panel but decided against it.

I think it looks neater when it's not cut. Plus I don't plan on pulling the front apart much or taking the engine out more than once.

unless you space frame the whole front end i think it just looks odd when people cut up their slam panels. whats the reason for going hmic daz? I'm guessing to reduce lag with shorter pipes? always considered doing it but I've never liked the look of not having an intercooler behind the bumper

I plan on removing and refitting so it looks standard just removable. Since I'm fitting the 1jz it'll make things a lot easier when fitting the thing.
