You have taken the seat mounts out of the car, what are you mounting the seats on? is there any strengthening for the seat mounts?

ditching the glass for polycarbonate will make a big weight saving, probably 20-35kgs for a guess. I wouldnt bother ditching the screen for polycarbonate as even using the much more expenive scratch-resist lexans, they still scratch from the wipers.

'Tegs looking really good though, may even catch you at en event this year, will say Hi if i do
    cheers CNH

Seats have plates under the floor to give a bit more strength - I got rid of the OEM mounts mainly to sit lower in the car.

Fan came from Ebay - its a marine engine room extrator fan, and shifts more air than the OEM blower - I think I may have to fit a resistor to sow it down a bit

Glass is staying for the screen, but everything else is being ditched for polycarbonate - the replacement windows are here, just waiting for a screen specialist to come and bond them in

Nice work, I was looking at a DC2 as a toy and to do my ARDS in. What series are you running it in? Blue Oval?

Blue Oval is for Fords only

They run with our championship, but this will be Classic Thunder

If you do your ARDS, the racing school will provide a car for you to do it in - you dont use your own car

i remember that teg from JAE. was immaculate, could have used a different one to track :P haha
didnt the guy have those little blue washer things everywhere? were only a few quid each, but it had like hundreds of quids worth of them all over the engine bay. it was very tidy.

    Nice work!

You seem to have a very small clearance between disc/caliper and the wheel.....Just a heads up if this is eeing the track, my mates MR2 was running larger brakes and only 15" wheels.

Due to the very tight clearance he was melting the sidewalls of his R888's due to the heat transfer....

Cheers for the heads up, but there is ducting for the brakes, and there is more clearance that I had on the S14 (I think some of the Apex cars ran like this also, without issues)

Quick question, why did you move away from the S14 to this for the same series (all be it a different class)?

The Silvia was in the top class, and as such was running with cars costing £100k+ to build - I cant compete with that and its still possible to win the championship from a lower class

I also had a few niggles with the silvia - hoses popping off etc which led to retirements. The Civic the year before was 100% reliable and to go from that to the niggly Silvia wasnt fun, youd travel 100s of miles and spend 100s in entry fees to do a few laps - Id rather slow it down a bit, be competitive in class and get my moneys worth
