    1998 Saphire Blue 14a

Right this really is just to see what my options are as im not really bothered for selling but if it sells it sells. If not i'll keep it and be a happy man. I dont need to sell but at the moment im only doing motoway miles and in my eyes is a waste for this car.

The car has a long MOT (runs out 9/11/2010) and tax untill the end of April

Just passed the MOT with flying colours

It comes with 2 keys, 2 fobs and the master fob

    A bit about the car

I bought this car from a SXOC member Crazymofo (Greg, im sure a few of you know him) 2 years ago. He had the car 7 years and i am the 3rd ower. Its a non-touring model so has benifits like not had side skirts on all its life and smooth front bumper (no headlight washers). Now its pretty much a touring spec. Its got aircon, 10 disk CD boot changer, S15 leather (so even better than 14a touring) and the side skirts. Only thing it doesnt have is the passenger airbag. It has covered around 124k miles which on a well looked after SR like this one is nothing as most people will know on this forum.

I am confident the engine will go on forever to come. It pulls great, no unusual noises, doesnt use water or oil. It does have a slight VVT rattle but only on warm start which is very minor (not many SR's dont). I have covered 15k miles in this car and it has been the most reliable car i have ever owned. The speedo is only reading 117k due to the other one getting KPH dials instead of MPH when the previous owner sent it off for lockwood dials, so it reads 8k miles out. The engine has always had Silkolene and changed every 6k.

I have FSH untill around 90k 2004 (15 stamps) Since then it has been serviced by myself and the previous owner

The Gearbox was replaced 20k miles ago with a lower milage one (its covered 80k now).

It has also been waxed atleast twice a month with Lime prime, dodo juice and collinite 915 for that extra protection and washed at least once a week.

This is a very capable fast road car. In the right hands it will put modern 'fast' road cars to shame. Its feels nice and tight with no body roll and the suspension yet nice a firm doesnt feel stiff and bounce the car around like some coilovers seem to do. So is still a nice comfortable daily drive aswell as a fast back road blast.

I have never taken it to a track day or drift day but I am positive it would be a storm on the track. Kind of regret not doing his now

The modifications to the car are

    Engine & gearbox

    Horsham Developments stage 1 chip
Greddy VSPL IC & Hard pipe kit With all new pipes and clamps 18 months ago (boost leak free)
Garret T28r Turbo (Roller bearing core for fast spool, brand new from Apex 18 months ago with brand new gaskets)
    Forged re-circ valve
    Small battery
    Walbro fuel pump
Blitz Dual SBC electronic Boost controller
    Apexi Air filter
    Apex filter box
Apex 3" exhaust (brand new 18 months ago) & Decat (cat currently on because i have just been for the MOT)
    Fidanze light weight flywheel
ACT Heavy Duty organic clutch rated to about 360lbft (nice easy clutch to drive with and not too heavy)
    Engine earth wire kit
    IK 22 spark plugs
    Braided turbo hoses
    Boost guage
    Nismo engine and gearbox mounts
800bhp short shifter (original one too)

    Handling

Godspeed front and rear anti-roll bars with new poly drop links
    Apex Adjustable rear camber arms
    Whiteline front tension rod bushes
    Subframe locking rings
    KYB Adjustible shocks
Eiback 35 mm lower sport springs
    Front and rear strut braces
Full alignment recently been done so it handles like it should

    Brakes

Skyline GTS-T 296mm 4 pot Front brakes with braided lines
Skyline GTS-T 299mm 2 pot Rear brakes with internal handbrake and braided lines

    Interior

Rare S15 leather front seats (so comfertable and alot more supportive than the 14's leather)
    Standard leather rear bench
    Nismo leather gear knob
Rear quarters have been stuffed with loft insulation along with the boot floor to keep road noise to a minumim, so no head aches in this car on long journies.
Apexi Pencil type Turbo timer with integrated A/F meter.
Uprated Sony Stereo with 10CD changer that uses the columb control stalk (currently got my Alpine in and this will be coming out unless some sort of deal can be aranged)
    All 4 main speakers uprated

    Exterior

    17" x 9" et17 Bronze WORK emotion CR-KAI's
6000K HID kit (not a cheap one)
    Touring side skirts
    De-badged boot
    Silvia sheild on bonnet
    Clear Front indicators
    Clear side repeaters

I'm sure there are more mods but I can't think what right now.

I also have a full set of PROJECT MU front and rear brake pads brand new that i will throw in and 4 litres of Silkolene oil to sweeten the deal!

As with everycar of this age there is the little niggles.

There are the odd paint imperfections and some car park dings as to be expected from a car this age/milleage but she's in great condition overall.
The washer motor for the front windscreen connection corroded so now the front windscreen washers is on the rear pump. But i do have a spare pump in my bedroom, just not got round to fitting.
2 of the alloys have curb rash
I got the front end resprayed due to stone chips but the bonnet isnt the best finish. Looks fine day to day (as you can see in the pictures) but when you get close you can see. Probably could do with been flattened off again and polished up. In time i was going to get a carbon bonnet so this has never really bothered me (just dont want any hidden suprises if someone comes and views)

It has very slight VVT on a warm start that's all. Sproket was replaces about 5k ago by a good one off eBay.

thank you. I'm probably going to keep her if nothing happens soon as it's insurance renewal time and there seems to be nothing that can match her.
