New fire extinguisher system is here. This is the same system Ive installed into our S14 V8. Theres no way Im taking any chances after seeing SMs car burn last year I wouldnt touch a mechanical cable operated system with a barge pole after having not one but two external release cables sieze in the Skyline in 2008!!!
Anyway, sexy fire fightingness The phones there for scale, look at the size of the bottle! Its a gas system rather than foam or powder so the bottle tiny and uber lightweight
Front bed is now partially built up. We are just going through all the nuts and bolts we are going to need more than anything else.
jesus christ every time i go off the idea of v8'ing my car.. i read another thread full of videos
please stop... i'll be bankrupt
wow i think v8s are going to proove popular after the cash people spend on replacing turbos pistons etc
Ooooh nice!! Good work and wicked spec.
Got any pictures of the lower control arms on the car at ride height?
How do you go about setting up roll centre with those?
If you havent tried a V8 install then you should grab a ride, you think they sound good, you should experience them working
The pics are from yesterday, we try to work fast but we arent that fast! The cars nothing like built yet

yea id like that! would be good to see how its different to my rb25 s13
Night and day in terms of character. The all alloy V8 also carrys a weight benefit over the RB
I did love the Skyline with its RB in its prime though, the noise still makes the hairs on the back of my neck prickle!
Went to put the front subframe together but decided the little used Tein tie rods needed to follow the whole cars philosophy of everything new so theyve been replaced:
The rods we removed are for sale here
Im also not happy with the quality of some of the painted parts so theyre getting powdercoated instead. This little lot is being dropped off with the powdercoaters tommorrow:
Ken Coleman, the engine builder, has been given the task of fabricating a custom clutch release mechanism from scratch as well as doing some machine work to the custom bell housing. He should have that lot finished today.
We are going down to H-Tech, the body shop, on Friday to fit the front and rear subframes and then bring the Skyline back up here so we can drop the engine and box assembly in on Saturday
The work we did to the dashboard was a bit of a waste of time but Ive got a place lined up to send it to do be redone properly and then be flocked.

New rear toe arm ball joints ready to install.
are them ball joints for the standard arms? nissan over here wouldnt sell a mate of mine them... they said they could only to the whole arm for €€€€€€€...
it was an r32... but think there the same...
i gave him an old s13 subframe i had... so he has adjustable s14 items on now...
Theres some misunderstanding here, these fit in the hub for the rear toe arm to fit to. There is absolutely no way Nissan could consider that joint as part of the rear toe arms assembly. Thats like saying you have to buy a hub because you need a lower ball joint.
I would imagine Nissan thought he was talking about a lower arm ball joint in which case, yes, they will only sell the complete arm.
The shells back here now Blasting is brutal However nothing the body shop wont sort
