    Mondeo TDCi Magicness

Well after pdh's diesel wagon thread I guess I should have one

WU54TLX was purchased in May this year for a princly sump of £2500. All hail the 'bay'

    It looked like this

Just your average 2.0 TDCi 130ps Ghia. 121k on the clock but lots of toys like climate, heated front screen, rain sensitive wipers, auto headlights, electic folding mirrors with puddle lights, cruise, Sony 6 disc stereo, auto dipping mirror, electric windows all round etc etc. Was also a Mk3 facelift so gets the better dash

It certainly wasnt mint and needed a new rear passenger door due to the former owners missus not judging the width of their drive very well it also had no history but being nearly 2k under the going price i took a chance

    An so the fun began

That's good news. I'll be selling my 05 plate estate in the next couple of months and I only thought it was worth around 2K. Happy days

First up was a trip to the breakers to get some jesus handles as all 4 were missing

    Second job was some rimmage

    Ghia X 18's

Most of this year has been spent keeping the thing bloody going

First the starter went so was replaced, next the rear shocks went but it has self levelling suspension - cue £250 per side shocks so it was converted to standard suspension for £150

Then the starter started playing up again Clutch and DMF time

Then after oh at least 2 months trouble free motoring the turbo a couple of weeks ago went

Its now all back on the road and better than ever

MOT is in a 2 weeks so we will see what that has in store

Nice wheels! look a biatch to clean though

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

    Ahh another Mondeo

I used to own an 03 '130' TDCi Zetec, I seem to be one of the few that never had any issues with it! I got it on 105k and got rid 160/170k with nothing more than servicing/tyres etc

My brother-in-law just bought a 04 TDCi Zetec for 2400. It had flywheel probs, replaced the flywheel and its on the road for a little over 2600. They are great cars for the money
