Those seats are rather tasty Jem - good job

How does its handling compare to the TVR? I've heard some dodgy things about TVRs' handling, and a MR2 impressed me the other day - looked very nippy around the bends!
The TVR can be a handfull as the is so much power, so little weight and nothing to catch you when you run out of talent, but on the whole the handling is very good. The MR-2 is very grippy in the dry and tends to over steer slightly but very controllable and it doesn't suddenly break away. In the wet it understeers like a bitch, and just wants to go straight on.
How pointy and throwable is the TVR? I know it's not the same car, but I've been thinking bad thoughts about a T350C
What I'm getting at is that in the Elise, whatever you ask it to do, it just does, immediately. The body's mass, such as it is, is so well controlled. Other cars, you have to account for the body, and kind of drive around it.
They weigh the same as an MX-5 so they do handle, not as well as an Elise, but is there anything that handles as well as an Elise! The difference is the effects of the throttle are so much more in the TVR which can catch you unawares. Too much throttle coming out of a bend and the back will slide, or sometimes if the back grips it can make the front go light and understeer.
I got the Tein Superstreets with pillowball topmounts fitted last weekend. Now I don't think there was anything wrong with the standard dampers, they seemed to damp ok but the difference to the handling and grip is like night and day!!! I've been running Eagle F1's since I got the car, and grip was good in the dry with lots of feedback when the tyres started to lose grip. In the wet feedback was good, but the car would understeer very easily
But I'm astonished as to how much difference changing to the superstreets has made. The roads have been quite wet and greasy this week, but I now have as much grip in the wet as I had in the dry before! You can really feel the tyres biting into the road. Not had a chance to see what it's like on a dry road with warm tyres yet though. I've still got to fit the EDFC and the Powerflex Polybushes and I think I'm going to set the ARBs harder.
Nice car. I fancied an N/A for a while. Is that a factory colour ?
Taken today, now I;ve got the Teins fitted and the windows tinted
That's really nice Jem
that looks smart nice colour
shame the tyres are caked in shite in that last pic
Looks really good though
Thats the problem in this crappy weather , no point spending ages on cars cause they are stinking straight after
