Bit of an update on the MR2

A couple of weeks ago the decision was made to freshen up the MR2's handling ect. So the following parts have been supplied by SRBpower, who have been brilliant

    Tein Superstreets with Pillowball topmounts
    Tein EDFC
    Tein Pillowball Tension rods
    Powerflex polybushes
    Whiteline ARBs
    Front strutbrace

I've also got some 10mm hubcentric spacers on the way so the suspension will fit

I've also got grooved discs and yellowstuff pads with Goodridge braided lines and DOT5.1 fluid, a K&N 57i (damn that's loud on full chat!!) and a Blueflame exhaust.

For ice, a Kenwood DNX9240BT double din Satnav and DVD should arrive tomorrow.

Just got to fit it all now Think the bushes are going to be the biggest ballache.

Bushes are easy when you have a 10 tonne hydraulic press

I've got one, so should be pretty easy, it's just that there are a few of them, including engine mounts.

Got the back of one of the seats done today and it looks FANTASTIC!!! Tricky job though, removing the old leather and putting the new on, I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Next on the list is sending the car off for a respray

N/A's are a bit easier to drive on the limit, especially a mid-engined car!

Exactly. This car was going to be my daily, and still is. But I've sold the Mazda to make this a very fine handling car, and refresh a few other bits. Once it's finished it should be a nice balance of just enough power and fantastic handling and good brakes that shouldn't fade.

Today has been spent finishing the retrim in leather and Alcantara. My hands are killing me now from all the work with pliers and pulling the covers on But I'm VERY happy with the result. The fit and quality of the stitching is spot on. The slight ruckles in the leather will settle out over a couple of days

The base of one of the seats with the old leather removed (this is upside down).

Same base with the first part of the cover attached.

If you look where the black strip of fabric is connected in the grove of the foam you can see the pesky copper coloured round wire clips that make this such a fun job!

One finished seat ready to go back in.

    Job done

I had to cut the holes in the side for the lumber support leaver and the knob.

Looking very sharp I really want an MR2 and I'm asking myself can I live with the moderate performance of the N/A compaired to the turbo... But can I live with blowing turbos and chances are it will be less reliable. Hmmmmm

My thinking is that the N/A will be more than fun enough to keep me happy for a bit plus running the turbo will ruin me as I'm currently buying a house

Turbos aren't actually that bad on fuel kept in vac. Especially on a long haul.

    My N/A averages 28-35mpg from a tank.

    I also need it gone.

    So buy mine
